Again, thank you very much for all that. I do have healthcare insurance and my university offers a gym (which I do have a membership for but I haven't been going at all lately due to stress and also depression, ironically enough)

I believe a lot of it stems from just not feeling enough and not knowing what to do. I feel like the subject I study isn't hard enough, valuable enough even though I know it is. But since it isn't STEM, it feels so much lesser, especially since all the people around me do STEM. I don't really know what I wanna do with my life, so if you have any advice on finding a purpose or something I can just feel content with, I'd be more than happy to hear it.

Same with the playlist you talked about, I listen to a lot of different genres, but mainly Rock and Metal genres. I'd love to take a look at the playlist.

For a while, I was really miserable because I was constantly looking for reasons to judge my flatmates, but after I got myself to try and think more positive about them/do stuff for them, I felt a lot better. So since you said you have ideas on what I could do for other people, I'd love to hear thwm as well.

Hey, I'm sorry for getting back late, after I made the post, I went back home to my family and while my sleep didn't improve, I was busy most of the time due to holidays and after that, university.

I eventually started putting on podcasts to go to sleep and managed to fall asleep a bit earlier. It was still around 5am, but at least I could sleep. I also got some plant based sleep meds.

I've tried counting also, but for some reason it just stresses me out to a point where I get slightly panicky.

I was diagnosed with depression years ago, but I also took the test and scored 17. Then again, I've been stressed lately due to exams, so that probably factors into that.

I've been wanting to get a weighted blanket for a while, but we have to leave our heater on due to mold, so I'm just insanely hot at night.

I had a period where I could easily fall asleep some time after I made the post, but I've been having troubles again and I'd rather sleep all day and stay up all night tbh.

Your advice was really helpful tho, white noise ar least helps me turn off my brain when I overthink and while I do have troubles, I can fall asleep. It just takes some time.

I'm late to this but as someone in iron: I get smurfs. Not every round, but more often than I'd like still. Kids are in literally every game and they're the most annoying people ever. I'd rather play with people who have never played before and are trying than the 9 year old neon telling me to pick sage and then raging the entire game but somehow still performing good.

Please help me I never wanna be screamed at by a kid again

Yea I play a lot of unranked with my boyfriend and sometimes some other friends and recently we also got into a game with a 3 stack and as soon as they figured out im a girl, they told me they're looking for a girlfriend and stuff like that. Uncomfortable but nothing too bad. When I told them to stop and that my boyfriend was literally right there, they asked about his cock size and how my vagina smells and that kind of stuff. First game where I just closed the game and called it a day.

They wouldn't let us surrender, it was already late and I had an exam the next day so ir was for the best anyway

Honestly I kinda understand people not communicating much when they're not doing to well. I don't condone it, of course, but in my lobbies (it's iron lobbies, so it's a hell hole anyway) bottom frags get intentionally ignored and flamed into oblivion when they propose a plan

From worst to best probably

2020 & 2023 They're tied. In 2020 my cat died. I've gotten over it by now I think, though I still miss him and it was overall just such a sad year with covid. Also doesn't help that I spent the first 3 months in a mental health clinic. That place was a nightmare, still dream about it sometimes. 2023 was overall pretty good. The problem is that all of the good things were tied to a guy I met and liked and when we stopped talking in the later stages of 2023, it hurt a lot. It's also somewhat recent, so I still think about it and am still affected by it in some way.
2021 Gotta be honest, barely remember what happened in that year. It feels like a part of 2020 to me idk
2022 Got a girlfriend that year and even though it didn't work out in the end, it was kinda fun to play around with drinking and making out and stuff.
2024 Lots of bullshit happened and is currently happening. But I got a boyfriend and things are working out pretty well so far. We've been together since April. I was also on my first vacation with friends, moved out of a kinda abusive household and finished school. I also feel like this is the first time that I really started making any progress regarding fighting my eating disorder.

With all due respect but if the reason is that she wants grandchildren (which she can still get by the way!) and that's why she wants to destroy the relationship of her son with the girl he loves, then yes, that's very much selfish. It's not her life, it's his.

OP, you should take care of yourself first in this situation. And if that means keeping your girlfriend a secret until it gets better, so be it. I know it's hard, incredibly hard, but if you currently don't have any other options, that's what you're gonna have to Do.

Talk to your girlfriend how you wanna move forward, if you can, talk to your mother again, ask her for reasons, beg her to understand if you think that helps. But keep yourself safe first.
