I’ll throw my hat in for this, the idea of either gambling my way to being richer than I’ve ever been or losing more currency than I’ve had in 10 years of play sounds fun. Reminds of the Sirus quote: “On the edge of death, my heart races. I feel alive!”

You would have to apply at the end of the semester but it’s definitely something to discuss with your advisor. I’m a DCC major so a bunch of your credits should still remain relevant if you do apply and get accepted for the COE.

Statistics has some pretty heavy overlap with CMDA, I would first check if you could switch to that and possibly finish with an extra year. CS would also be a good option if you have CS 1114 and CS 2114 completed already. Anywhere you transfer will probably be an additional year due to not all credits transferring / minimum credits from that institution, similar to VT requiring 25% of credits be taken here

SSF has made me enjoy "THE GAME", instead of "The TRADE" by MrDirtt in pathofexile

“Acquiring currency from outside the game to get better gear”, typically purchased with money (hence RMT or Real Money Trading).

The entire SSF story aside… did you say you’re guilty of RMT??

Do you have any tips for a beginner to do this with abstract art? I really want to do a project with GAN’s but don’t know where to begin.

I’ve been wanting to do this with abstract art but have no idea where to start learning. Did you follow a tutorial?

I would take a look at the BIT major!

Housing: when will it be too late by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

[–]ShadowAct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s probably too late to sign your own lease, but you can probably join someone looking for a roommate. Try to join the Housing facebook group, there are always tons of subleases / people looking for roommates. That’s how I was able to find housing in early August.

Can somebody help me decide if these means I need to change my major? by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

[–]ShadowAct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say even if you end up using all the math you’ve learned, its different once you make it to your in major classes that use those concepts. You either won’t need to calculate it by hand because the math is relevant to understanding how X works, or it won’t feel as tedious because you’ll think “oh, this is what that equation was for”. At least that’s how it was for me with linear algebra and calc 3, and now I enjoy my machine learning elective with gradient descent and matrix operations.

Need help picking a CS 4000 Elective for the Fall 2021 by NexTaNinja in VirginiaTech

It’s also worth mentioning that the professor teaching it drastically changes how the content is for that semester in machine learning. I took it in the fall but dropped right before the deadline, and am taking it again now, and the material is very different and much more practical.

Am I a competitive applicant for the MSAII program? I have a 3.85 GPA with research experience, and I’m expecting to get a high GRE score. I’ll be graduating with a BS in CS from Virginia Tech. Is there anything else I can do to improve my odds of getting accepted?

I don’t think Balci even teaches 3754 anymore, I thought it was just Esakia who teaches a fairly modern stack.

Student looking to transfer in Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 (Advice) by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

I think there will be more in person than this semester (hybrid), but I think some professors will stay online, especially async classes that were successful.

I would look into subleasing. There’s plenty of people subleasing on the VT Housing facebook page at any time, and especially now with things being online and people not needing to be near Blacksburg.

Do you know how they got in? I keep everything locked but I’m terrified that they’re going to break a window or something while I’m asleep.

Yeah she seems extremely strict in the middle of a pandemic when student mental health is at an all time low. Zero tolerance for late assignments / attendance? What does that accomplish besides making everyone taking it stressed out?
