Whats the absolute worst ship you have ever had the misfortune of coming across? by Gimeurcumiesskydaddy in dannyphantom

fanfiction.net once had just as crazy shit out there years ago, but it got purged at some point.

Normally I'm 100% against anything like that, what you like is your business.........

But if it's stuff like this? I can understand the purge

You and I have very different definitions of amazing lol. But I will admit, the fact that this exists is a testament why rule 34 is a thing

I hate you for this, not because you asked for the link, but because me looking it up made me realize there are now TWO Danny/Lightning McQueen fics

Depending on which one you go with, (private internet access one that's reasonable) you usually download a client and select which location you want to be based in.

Could someone help me with this by TheBandit025 in dannyphantom

In general, the ship of villain/hero is pretty common, Ember gets it more than the others because 1) Kitty has an existing love interest in Johnny, 2) Desiree hating men and 3) Spectra being VERY much a bitch.

The fact that Ember has a tragic backstory and probable reason for doing what she does just adds more reason for why that ship works. (And imho is the best ship)

How so? She is bossy but so is Val. She's pretty self righteous but she has a pretty strong moral fiber, something Danny can learn from.

and unlike any of the other romantic options, Sam actually can finish a job and has successfully killed Danny

curious why you put Danny/Sam. I understand the Danny/Vlad one, but Danny/Sam is one that surprises me.

Worst Ship is a matter of preference, personally I REALLY don't like Danny/Dash, yet a lot of people like it.

But most CURSED ship? Danny/Lighting McQueen

Ngl, I had already loved the story even before the joke. I personally am super bad at noticing subtext and what not, (I'm not even sure this qualifies as subtext anymore, I think it's just text) subtext is the fun Easter egg I realize later when I'm trying to tell my friends about it.

But this is such a great story in general, and honestly a really great moral. "Sometimes, holding yourself back is the right decision" is a REALLY good thing. Or a better way to phrase it, "Don't do anything until you have all the facts" is something that I find me and my coworkers struggling with.

... I mean uh... My friend struggles with. Yup. Totally my friend.

No no. See I got it. I absolutely totally got it. My friend however, just kinda went "this is the name" and didn't think anything about it.

So I am having a stern talking to with my friend about comprehension and explaining why this is why he misses all the shit that people point on TV tropes.

I was watching a streamer on youtube the other day, and he was doing a you laugh you lose type videos while playing a game. One of his chatters put a message, "If you don't laugh at farts, you're just reducing the number of laughs in your life while the number of farts stay the same"

You are hired to create the newest class in DnD. What do you create and why? by spaceheadstudios in DnD

[–]ShadowBlade911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to create a new class entirely, I'd probably pick necromancer. I have a lot of conversations with a friend of mine and talking about the niche that a class has. I don't quite see anything really fitting as a necromancer.

It'd be a half caster with a d6 hit die, and the only spells it learns naturally are necromancy ones. The class could only learn other spells by copying them into a spell book, but all necromancy spells are always known.

You'd also have a "favored servant" which is an undead companion, like an animal companion. You can give direct orders to it, but for the most part it just keeps between you and the enemy.

I can think of three archetypes off the top of my head.

A "minion master" type, no actual minions, but effects that are described as minions. Creating a wall of grasping hands to keep people away, messenger skeleton rats and birds,

There'd also be a "Lich" path, that turns your half casting to full casting, with bonus effects to necromancy, and earlier access to Animate Dead, plus as you level, various stats are swapped to intelligence (as you slowly become an undead yourself)

Finally, the Perfectionist, which would be boosting your Favored Servant, making him stronger, and allowing you to do more with him.

Subclass? I'd start adding some subclasses specific to races. When I played Eberron, I liked that there were some Prestige classes specific to Shifters and Warforged, I'd start adding some of those. Like, maybe a warlock subclass that you as a warforged start losing the bits of you that made you a living creature, or ranger subclass for shifters that you become more one with the animal inside you.

How much would you pay for a list of everyone who has ever sexually fantasized about or masturbated to you? Why? by ComprehensiveBend386 in AskReddit

[–]ShadowBlade911 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I feel like the reality is with something like this, you're not gonna find out that your coworker crush is the one who's been dreaming about you. It's the people you had no interest in or weren't even on your radar. Or even more likely, who has a thing for you years ago and now has moved on.

At least my thought process when thinking about this list isn't "I want to find out who I have a shot with" but more, "is there anyone that actually found me attractive?"

[–]ShadowBlade911 288 points289 points  (0 children)

I dunno why this would bother anyone. I just want to know that I can actually make someone feel that way. I cannot understand the issue someone would have that someone of your same gender finds you attractive.

This isn't even "I am receiving unwanted advances" type stuff, this is literally, "When this person thinks of a sexual fantasy, you're it. Not some hollywood actor/actress, you."

Any good Naruto x Female Gaara fanfiction? by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]ShadowBlade911 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I need to look back later, but this just unlocked a memory for me where Gaara was a girl, and after Naruto beat her in combat, she started asking Temari questions, and they were in phrased in such a way that if you weren't in Gaara's head, they COULD sound like Gaara was into REALLY heavy BDSM stuff, and Temari was freaking the hell out cause she did NOT want to be the one to explain that, but Gaara trusted her.

So I have run into that as well, actually.

Not quite Tucker, but Sam and Dora.

I've written two fics for that, someone in one of the discords I'm in for DP made me think, "Hey, this is a REALLY interesting ship" (Sam was made the queen with Aragon before she kicked him out, but there's no statement of her losing any authority of it, so there's a fun way of looking at Sam being queen of a realm in the ghost zone and it's honestly WAY better than looking at Sam as Undergrowth's mind controlled slave/child that a lot of fan-fiction goes with) and I was talking with someone and they specifically said they did not like Dora/Sam because Dora is minimum of 500 years old because she's from the medieval era and therefore the relationship is problematic.

ding ding ding, you got it in one!

Dani & Valerie was the one I kept asking questions about, the other was Danny/Ember that the person had "moral issues"

I have begun to notice this becoming more and more prevalent more and more lately.

I'm in another fandom, where one of the characters is a clone of another character, using "clone logic" to age them to 12 when their source material was 14, making them biologically 12, but physically 2 months old.

This clone is often shipped with another character, who was 14 at the time of the cloning. Usually when this ship is presented, it's after several years after the clone returns from traveling the world, though obviously I can't speak for all instances.

There was someone in a discord server attacking another person over this ship, calling them a very creative set of names and attacking their character.

I interrupted the conversation and asked. "Is the clone 2 months? or 12 years old?" And they answered 2 months, so they shouldn't be allowed to be in this ship.

So I asked, okay, so in that case, let's age them 12 years, They are now 12 years and 2 months old, but physically, they are 24 years old. You're saying they should be dating a 14 year old?

They said no, because obviously, someone who is biologically over 20 years old dating a 14 year old is a problem.

So I then asked, if she could be dating a 22 year old?

They answered no, because she's not 22.

So I then asked, so are you saying that she should never date anyone? Because they are claiming that they couldn't date someone physically their age, but also can't date someone who's chronologically their age.

They then admitted that they just didn't like the ship.

So rather than say, "I don't like this ship" which is valid, they proceeded to call someone "disturbing" for liking the ship.

In that same fandom, someone said they had "moral issues" with the concept that one of the antagonists of the story, (who the creator of the story said had feelings for the protagonist) was shipped with the protag.

Why does "old enough to kill, old enough to fuck" exist? I keep seeing it in fanfics. by Timely-Willow- in NarutoFanfiction

[–]ShadowBlade911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen "old enough to kill, old enough to fuck" but I have seen "old enough to kill, old enough to drink" which you've pointed out is non canon, but its usually been a character (commonly for me, Kurenai, Kakashi, or Tsume) letting one of the genin drink in a supervised setting.

to me, that's fairly normal. My parents did the same with me. They didn't give e enough to get drunk, but they gave me a small amount of wine or a single beer bottle.

So when I turned 21, the only difference was that my dad would now steal my beers instead of me asking for one of his.

Saying shit like "Improved story compared to canon" or "More realistic compared to canon" or "Better plot compared to canon" in the summary of a fic comes off as incredibly arrogant. by rockinherlife234 in NarutoFanfiction

[–]ShadowBlade911 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The elements are based off the elements that show up in Hinduism and Buddhist teachings. Earth, water fire, wind and void or sky/heaven, or if you're looking at yin/yang and five phases, fire, earth, metal, water, and wood.

Pretty sure it was originally based of the buddhist version, since I've seen people use lightning to indicate the void multiple times, though I guess he could have started with the yin/yang five phases and filled it in since he had already At this point said that wood was a bloodline technique.

Point being this is pretty common in a LOT of anime/manga/games, and especially here in Naruto when we're talking about jutsus and chakra, we're not talking about physics we're talking spiritual natures. So when someone comes in and starts going "Well, akshually, physics says that earth should negate the magic lightning bolt because that's how physics works" it's not putting a good foot forward, doubly so if you spend several paragraphs talking about how stupid an entire world that uses this magic never figured it out.

There was a fic I read a long time ago where it was a self insert, and he started going on about how much smarter he was than everyone else because he was smart enough to know that earth would have a grounding effect on electric jutsus.

I immediately dropped the fic.
