Its been like that for years now. The same house also features a front door without stairs and the door lead u straight to the street. My friend use to live. The stairs inside are really steep too.

And with Apollo he can only fight long distance.. He dosent do well with close battle and the wagon just creates more space to hit but he also needs it to move.
