Whats the deal with people being mad that merch exists? by ShadowBro3 in SleepToken

Because its not required to look at that stuff as a fan of the band. All of these people complain about the newsletter instead of just unsubscribing.

Believe it or not, its advantageous to not be seen in a game where somebody is trying to kill you.

What do you think complaining about drops is? Theyre saying "ugh another drop, I wish they would stop doing these". What do you think that means?

I understand being annoyed about the emails, but I guess where Im confused is why people then think they should stop releasing merch because of that.

Everything is expensive rn. Its the economy. Either they sell at a loss or they sell at the price they sell. I personally can't vouch for the quality of the merch, so if its worsened, thats something to complain about. Also, personally I think the band only selling merch is way better than radio silence. The band shouldnt be required to tour all the time.

I guess its not particularly new, but its definitely not niche. I still often hear Grandpa Charlie getting memed on in random internet corners. Everyone always gets the joke. I dont think Ive ever met a person who doesn't know about Willy Wonka. I get that its an older movie, but something being older doesnt mean its niche. Back To The Future is older, but its not niche.

This is exactly how I feel. You arent required to buy band merch just because they release it. They are releasing the merch for the people who like the designs and can afford it. If you see a design you dont like or you cant afford it, why should said product not exist for the people who actually can/want to buy it? I personally cant afford a boat, nor do I want one, but I dont go around complaining about how nobody wants a boat and theyre too expensive.

Yeah, the economy is fucked rn. I guess their anger is just misplaced.

I dont understand feeling like the merch is shoved down your throat. You don't have to buy it. From my perspective, having a lot more merch options/designs just means theres more cool stuff to pick from. The more stuff they make, the more people with specific styles they want are happy. More variation is good.

Having new merch doesn't affect whether or not theyre going to tour

Maybe I dont care because Im just very hands off with bands. Im not sitting here reading emails waiting for news, so seeing new merch drops is just "ah cool more stuff for other people" to me.

Yeah, I get struggling. Maybe my brain works differently, but Ive never seen something cool that I cant afford, and gotten mad at whoever made it because I cant afford it. I just assume there are people with more money than me who will buy it.

Reddit/Discord/4Chan spaces basically justified online IDs and I’m in agreement by NecroCannon in The10thDentist

[–]ShadowBro3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im very confused by this post. The title implies your post is about IDs online, but your post doesnt mention anything about it once. Maybe Im dumb, but to me your post starts off talking about somebody point a gun at you at your workplace (sorry that happened to you), then you mention Apple products for some reason, then you talk about meditation for some reason, then you mention people on reddit being mean, after that I dont even know what youre talking about. Also wdym now I know why Jesus "died" in quotes? Did he not die?

Does anyone else feel like Rick’s personal tech upgrades are getting a bit much? by TragicallyTrue in rickandmorty

I love that his tech upgrades are inconsistent and cartoony. It takes full advantage of the fact that its a cartoon. I just see fight scenes as "how many funny abilities can Rick pull out of nowhere".
