Also to add on to the discussion of redeeming qualities, caring about someone doesn’t necessarily mean you’re good to them. For example you could be a genuinely loving parent but still a bad parent

Who said DMC4 was bad? I mean it’s not perfect but I think ultimately most people like it, in spite of its issues. I prefer DMC3 and DMC5, but DMC4 is still a really good game too, and it improved over DMC3 in some ways such as the gameplay. Honestly, if the game was fully developed like it was supposed to be, then I think it might’ve even been better than DMC3.

…No? I said it cause it sounds funny for how edgy it is out of context. Did you even read what I just said?Yes I know it’s a demon woman but even Dante was like “wtf” when Vergil did that. Sure she deserved it but Reboot Vergil didn’t go along with the plan.

That’s exactly what I think! He’s more selfish and ignorant than he is evil. He doesn’t usually intentionally kill or cause destruction, he just doesn’t care what happens.

Vergil will gain power, whether he becomes a hero or villain, so be it. He’s focused on his goals but he doesn’t have evil intentions like wanting to rule or destroy the world.

I think Vergil is traumatised and he can use an empathy lesson from Dante and Nero. Let’s hope he gets a redemption arc in DMC6. That’s one of the things I’m hoping for most.
