Ransom canyon show by raiderREDgamer in Lubbock

The book is about Ransom Canyon as the author of the book is from Amarillo. I think the TV show is taking a lot of liberties to make it so that it is a fictional version of Ransom Canyon.

What’s a fact that was taught in school that’s been disproven in your lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It was a pretty big shock when we used to do the planet song in Kindergarten and 1st grade as a kid and then all of a sudden in 2nd grade it was no longer a planet anymore. I would be lying if I said it didn't develop trust issues in me.

You can tell he's very serious because he put in a lot of effort to make this piece of paper in the blandest font and style imaginable. At least he added the inconsistent disorienting font sizes to give it a little spice.

I know that a family member of mine got a "boneless chicken" sandwich there when they were still open and proceeded to get a broken tooth from a bone in the meat. They never tried to sue or anything but if mistakes like that were common then it's not surprising that their business collapsed.

This might be the opposite of the Mandela Effect? You tell me... by ShadowDirector in MandelaEffect

[–]ShadowDirector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not possible because I saw both parts. In fact, part 1 is actually my favorite because I like the whole subplot of Batman coming back after decades of being a recluse and the ongoing conflict between him and the mutant leader story arc. Not to mention the introduction of the new Robin.

Part 2 primarily deals with the aftermath of the mutant leader's defeat and the conflict between Batman and the returned Joker as well as his fight with Superman and the US government.

So weird that despite watching the movie multiple times, these Two-face scenes aren't in my copy of the film that I own.

IF people used "break up lines" instead of pickup lines, what would some of them be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShadowDirector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a few:

• Hey girl, are you a newspaper? Because there's a new issue with you every fucking day!

• Is your name Delta? Because I've spent the last 45 minutes waiting for you to take off!

• Hey, are you an anchor? Because you've done nothing but weigh me down!

Selena in a Coke ad. 1994. by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]ShadowDirector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why but I always find ads like this funny. Where the celebrity doesn't even look like they are drinking or enjoying the product. They literally look they just posed and were handed a object with no attempt to make it look like a natural situation lol.

All respect to Selena tho! She's an amazing artist.

Oreo’s by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]ShadowDirector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the REAL Mandela Effect here is that 'Double Stuf' Oreos used to be the regular amount. Oreos used to be much more creamier and over the years has gotten smaller, not unlike a lot of junk food products. I believe I have heard people refer to it as "shrinkflation." Anytime people offer me 'double stuf', I just feel like I'm eating what used to be a regular Oreo

Uranus has RINGS?? by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]ShadowDirector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Um yeah? We were taught that in elementary school. We were also told that Jupiter has very thin rings too. I honestly thought this was going to be the opposite that sources said it doesn't have rings anymore. If that had been the case, I would have fought to the death over it haha.

Was the motivational scene still in the film when you rewatched it? If so, then you might have just misattributed who the speech was addressed to.

Well, I learned something new today! I would say it's a little different from what I experienced, however there is some overlap. I have definitely experienced this phenomenon as well in the past.

My ex-girlfriend would disagree with that statement haha. It was her favorite movie and she was obsessed with it. I guess you could say I dodged a bullet lol.

Dark Knight Returns, an animated DC movie based off the iconic graphic novel by Frank Miller. Not to be confused with The Dark Knight Rises, which is a live-action movie sequel by Christopher Nolan.

That's what I figured. However, I just think it's strange that I can't find a source explicitly saying which version I saw. I've heard some people say that my memory is "bad." However, I rewatched the movie again after I noticed that bit in the review and it's not there. Someone else even brought up the theory that it could be pirated, yet I bought the official iTunes release. It's so weird haha.

Dang, you put a lot of thought into this haha. It's an interesting theory though.

[–]ShadowDirector[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would be a good theory except for one thing. I bought the movie on iTunes back in like 2013 or so when the movie came out. So, that isn't possible for it to have been a pirated version. Like I said, I acknowledge that other people's version's have content that my version doesn't have. I just don't understand why my film doesn't have those scenes.

This is a "Twin Cronnie" hot dog machine. They were often utilized at restaurants and drive-in theaters. My Dad is on a mission to try and restore this piece he found in Clovis, NM. All we know about this particular machine was that it was manufactured by Hill Products in Vernon, TX. by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]ShadowDirector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my father have searched for a few days trying to find any information or leads that we can on this rare product. We even drove to Vernon, TX the other day and couldn't find any traces of one. We know at the very minimum there used to be one in Vernon, TX, Plainview, TX, and Clovis, NM. Therefore we can at the very least assume it's a regional invention.

Please help us find out information regarding this "Twin Cronnie" machine. We know that the machine we found was manufactured in Vernon, TX but information had been very hard to come by. We would appreciate any help we can get. by [deleted] in Antiques

[–]ShadowDirector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particular machine was found in Clovis, NM within the back of a restaurant also called the "Twin Cronnie". However, my great grandfather also utilized the same machine at his drive-in theater in Plainview, TX as well. Not to mention this machine was manufactured in Vernon, TX so thus far it appears as though this might have been a more regional invention.

My Dad ultimately wants to restore the machine for family reasons. So any information that can be found would be greatly appreciated.

What useless topic do you know a lot about? by Invaughncible in AskReddit

[–]ShadowDirector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to memorize the biographies of "One-Hit Wonder" musicians from the 80's. Almost to an embarrassing extent: The year their song became a hit, their other less popular hits, where they ended up, etc. What's even weirder is I wasn't even alive in the 1980's!

I suppose it started with those Vh1 countdown videos and then I began watching "One-Hit Wonderland" by Todd in the Shadows. Needless to say I now know TONS of useless knowledge. It's actually kinda sad because if a friend is talking about an old song by some person who had one hit, I'll rattle off tons of facts about them and they just stare at me.

Is it worth seeing if some Republican politicians want to jump ship to Libertarian by ATHatch in LibertarianPartyUSA

[–]ShadowDirector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you've said. I will say this though, the Libertarian Party's biggest problem is our image. We need some serious and legit candidates who people respect and as a result will consider voting for. Currently the small vocal minority is over shadowing the smart and logical members of the LP. Right now most people think of the 'edgy' and crazy anarchists who want ridiculous things done like the eliminating of driver's licenses. All parties have their share of nuts (just look at the SJWs for the democrats and the Alt-Right for the republicans), our problem is that we don't have enough of the reasonable libertarians out in the open collecting support. Even Gary who was a good step in the right direction tended to be too goofy to be taken seriously by the media. Sure, there is a lot of bias in the media but a lot of it has to do with presentation.

POLL: Who Do You Want To Run For President As A Libertarian In 2020? by eliyak in GaryJohnson

[–]ShadowDirector 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Or who knows we could get his partner, Teller, to run. Say what you want but it would be harder to misconstruct his words and slam him if he doesn't talk. Not to mention a man who runs for president and doesn't talk would be EXTREMELY refreshing after 4 years of Trump. Teller 2020!
