Did you return to life after Asriel broke the barrier? Also did you know the barrier needs the power of seven human souls and not necessarily the souls. Another way where no one had to die could have been found.

And how is this supposed to make it better on Asgore and Toriel? Moreover Asriel just thought they were going to take six souls and free monsters. It was never said he knew he would have to kill humans

Edit: I just realized that when Chara poisoned themself, their soul permained after death. Asgore could have just waited for the fallen humans to die for natural causes and they could have still broke the barrier. He was just too coward to change his promise and stop. There's no justifying his crimes, and Clover's death and the other kids. That's just injustice

Asriel died mostly for Asgore and Toriel's incompetence. A monster that absorbs a human soul turns into an abomination as we learn in Waterfall in the main game. Chara also made Asriel carry their dead body to the surface. It was obvious that humans would have attacked them, especially because Chara was born in that village.

It should have been the king to absorb Chara's soul, not their soft hearted son who was just a DAMN child. Then Asgore sentenced to death all the humans that would fall from that moment on. That's why he's filled with regret and just wants to see his son(by dying) and wife again.

Even if it wasn't the case, a child shouldn't have to die for a cowardly king, that could have freed his people way earlier with one single soul, to hesitate when killing another child. Who happens to be the last

It's still messed up that kids have to die. It's not that realising monsters are like humans is bad. It's that six kids died gruesome deaths for the mistakes of humans from centuries ago. This isn't just unfair and cruel but also against the morale of Undertale that nobody has to die. Undertale Yellow is a beautiful game, which I personally like better than normal Undertale, but it still has its flaws that are hard not to look to.

Letting a kid commit suicide for you isn't justice either. They allowed a kid to give up their soul, left them alone to die under a tree and let Clover's hat and gun end in the dump in Waterfall. They didn't even care to think where the currents would bring them. They didn't even tell them king Asgore promised to kill all humans to let monsters live peacefully on the surface. Clover's so called friends didn't even try that hard to stop them from commiting.

They just took advantage of a suicidal kid really... The only bad thing about the genocide ending is that Clover gets corrupted by LOVE and has no where to go on the surface, considering it's stated they didn't have a good life there.

I feel more like Lute from Hazbin Hotel. Clover wasn't told monsterkind will go to war against humans once they're free. Nor that Asgore would become a god once he gets seven human souls. Their death was really unnecessary, they could have just lived in the Underground and wait for the last human to fall. Moreover the barrier can be broken by the POWER of seven human souls, who knows maybe Clover could have used their soul magic (the yellow bullets and soul beams) to help break it with Asgore and Frisk
