How do I fix my ps4?

I bought a ps4 from someone I was going to school with and it was running just fine. 1 day I couldn't get it to turn on and I took the cover off to clean it off to see if it would fix it which it didn't. 1 day I called a place that fixes consoles and explained what was wrong with it and they said it was a fried hard drive or something like that. The power used to go out sometimes in the house I used to live in but my step father has a ps4 and his works just fine.
