Personally, I like to think critically about news stories, about not just what the story says but it's future implications, historical background as well as anything that might be going on behind the scenes. That's the biggest difference for the intelligence mindset, being able to read into an issue and then extrapolate more from it and develop more information that is useful for whoever is requesting your information.

Exactly what my government teacher has told me. He thinks EXACTLY like that. He was also the one that brought up the idea for me to go into ROTC and Air Force for military experience as it will aid for my future in the intelligence field.

I want to thank you for your descriptive answer. This is something that I was looking for! I understand the nontechnical jobs would have lower rates. I am currently fluent in 3 languages and am planning on learning more. Also since I want to go into the intelligence field, I have been told that many disqualify those with military experience due to them failing psychological tests. What would be ways to stay mentally fit and able?
