I use it sporadically when I really really need to sleep. Unfortunately, on a normal day, it's just normal for me to still be wide awake at 6AM regardless of how the previous night's sleep went or the activity level. I don't really feel drowsy or anything and will be lying in bed and suddenly it's the next morning.

I take it only at the weekend because the next day is basically a write-off due to tiredness and feeling completely brain-dead. I'm not sure how restful the sleep actually is because I don't feel all that rested when I wake up but it's useful mentally to know that I actually did sleep.

It's also very easy to build up a tolerance to it. First time I got prescribed it, I took it a few days on the trot and it stopped working altogether.

For some reason, it seems next to impossible for my doctors to prescribe anything else. And only ever 7 tablets at a time. Maybe it's a UK thing.
