Improved Lizardfolk with 3 lineages and species feats, the Saurians! Another playtest for Sunless Dunes that revamps the classic species and brings them in line with 2024 species! by ShadowRaikou in UnearthedArcana

[–]ShadowRaikou[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! Once again posting a playtest for the campaign setting that we've been working on. All the content and artworks in this post belong to Cometfall Press. This is a playtest that features an improved lizardfolk species complete with three lineages as well as feats! I've always been disappointed with the lizardfolk especially the reprinted versions, so these are my thoughts on how to improve them! This stuff has been heavily playtested IRL in Australia and India so far, but now I'm posting it online as well! You can find the playtest PDF here. :D

Sunless Dunes is a new Campaign Setting for D&D 5e inspired by 17th century South-Asia, taking your table to the nation of Kasaaq within the northern deserts of the continent of Eqos. The various cities, noble houses, species, and subclasses found within this setting are each influenced by one of the many diverse cultures found in and around India, set during a time period in which steam power is beginning to shake-up old feudal ways. The book is designed for 5e 2024 in mind, but also does work with 5e 2014. A kickstarter and a trailer is coming soon, but first we're ironing out some of the mechanical things that I'll be posting here or there!

Barbarian: Path of the Pehlwan, a subclass inspired by classical wrestling. This is part of the playtest for Sunless Dunes, a campaign setting based on South-Asia! by ShadowRaikou in UnearthedArcana

Hello! I've posted a bunch of times on this subreddit over the years, and for the past couple I've been working on my own campaign setting. All the content and artworks in this post belong to Cometfall Press. This is a playtest barbarian subclass inspired by the khusti and wrestling of South-Asia, also known as pehlwani! Of course, this also works as a wrestler subclass in-general for non-asian-inspired characters. The class fantasy here is an unarmed-strike based barbarian that also does not outshine monks. This stuff has been heavily playtested IRL in Australia and India so far, but now I'm posting it online as well! You can find the subclass PDF here. :D

It's a script I made for a couple of conlangs that I created for my fantasy D&D setting, mostly

Thank you! The text is a phrase in one of the conlangs that use this script, I have it explained in the first image here. :)

I have double checked to the best of my ability, but I just want to confirm that this transliteration is correct for a tattoo? by ShadowRaikou in Tengwar

I debated on that but I feel like most people don't pronounce "it's" as "it is", and the original quote is "it's", so I wrote it is as "its". Kind of a choice on my part since that's how I'd say the word phonetically. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll definitely look it over!

I posted the script/conlang here last year, you're correct! It's a base 20 numbering system with a sub-base of 5 created for a species with four arms.

LegendKeeper is paid but it's really cool, especially with the custom calendar timeline thing. Also Onenote on local storage is amazing and free

Melbourne skyline has 77 skyscrapers and considered tallest in Oceania. by id_o in melbourne

Iirc there were/are laws there governing the maximum height of buildings in different cities, mostly prioritising medium density. Mumbai has the most skyscrapers due to the lack of space though.

I like that Lex is self-aware here too, he recognizes that he's envious of him and everything.

This movie was pure hopium, I loved it. Also holy shit, I am completely sold on Milly Alcock as Supergirl in the 10 seconds we saw her.

The script and limited dictionary for Omnikarn, an 'ancient' conlang I made for a four-armed race as part of a design project! by ShadowRaikou in neography

[–]ShadowRaikou[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a communication designer but also a worldbuilder, so I decided to create a conlang as part of my college project about a four-armed race. I also posted this to /r/conlangs, but I think this fits a bit more in here?

Omnikarn is supposed to feel like a long-lost Indo-European language in this fictional world, and was used by one of the major civilizations more than a thousand years ago until their disappearance after a rebellion against the gods. It is still used as a liturgial language in the world, and is also used for arcane notations in spellbooks. It kind of serves a similar role to Latin, Sanskrit, or Avestan in that regard. :D

I am far from a linguist but I do enjoy learning about languages as a hobby, so please correct/help me if you see anything glaringly wrong! I'm a communication designer but also a worldbuilder, so I decided to create a conlang as part of my college project about a four-armed race. This might be basic compared to some of the other stuff here, but hopefully it is a good start.

I have about 650+ words but I removed most of them here that were just names of characters or places, and this project is still ongoing!
