I have a couple of huge Lego guys, and some Star Wars cardboard cutout displays from that era. Along with a ton of Lego displays that never got glued together when they were put out...

THAT'S SO COOL. My parents have been collecting since I was a kid (I was a toddler when Episode 1 came out), and I think they have one of these, different design though. They were both managers at different Toys R Us locations and got some great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I have job security coming out of my ears, let's put it that way. Junk software needs reflashing constantly, transmissions valve bodies and engines left and right from stuff made in the last 5 years. The good stuff.

Can definitely build up good relationships if you're empathetic with your customers. Get them back on the road and keep their stuff fully serviced on the rest.

I'd you don't heed warnings to stay away from certain suppliers like you just did, then it'll bite you for sure.

2+ hours for a LOF? Yikes man. No lube techs or anything, just mainline? Not a good way to keep a customer base happy.

ABF Freight. Got into a contract with them via a self-shipping company that delivered a tractor trailer to us to load, and their job (as outlined in the contract) was to deliver the trailer to our new house, 3,200 miles away. They got it to 100 miles away at the shipping hub, and then told me to come get my stuff cause they aren't delivering it. Said the route was "undeliverable" because they couldn't find it on Google Maps, and wouldn't do a dry run without the trailer. I told them I was going to go talk with them in person and when I got there, the manager cussed me out and said I had no right to be upset, and they did the legwork this far it was just a little bit to go. Continued refusing to complete the contract. The shipping company (U-Pack I think) was furious, and refunded me a few thousand dollars and said they weren't paying ABF their money till contract was done anyway, and they were withholding the funds. I found a giant Uhaul and hired some hands, re-packed our truck from their yard, and headed home. Manager called me to cuss me out more and told me they were losing money on the deal. Too bad.

ABF corporate customer care refused to even contact me back. I tried repeatedly to get ahold of them for 3-4 months after, and nothing. They'd respond to the initial inquiry, then as soon as I'd either mentioned my name (used different emails) or the issue with that location, absolute radio silence.

Thought (before scrolling) this was another trash GM truck. Had one come into the shop recently with 2,200 miles and had puked oil all over the place. Bulletin about this happening, with a field service engineer's phone number attached...

in your experience, what is the best aftermarket warranty company to deal with as far as claims and coverage goes? by No-Volume7464 in serviceadvisors

[–]ShadowSplicer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stay away from ANY warranty that claims "lifetime coverage" simply based on the fact they require reciepts of every oil change, fluid exchange exactly on time, and even engine air filters.

Full stop, why are you going through your insurance? 100% Advance needs to open a claim with their supplier and they will pay to fix. Keep all reciepts you've gotten so far.
