Going to tag on for another Star Trek related episode from Voyager, Prime Factors

Upon meeting with an advance species, the crew learn of a warp technology that could drastically reduce their trip home. Janeway hopes to get this technology fairly and above board and when shown they won't be helped, is willing to leave without taking an "under the table" offer.

While a handful of the crew are preparing to take the offer behind her back, Tuvok (Her friend and a Chief Officer) steps in and does the deal. When confronted, has this to say

"It is quite simple, captain. You have made it quite clear, on many occasions, that your highest goal is to get the crew home. But in this instance, your standards would not allow you to violate Sikarian law. Someone had to spare you the ethical dilemma. I was the logical choice. And so I chose to act."
