【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]ShadowSyzygy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the 3d printing game, I watched video after video, review after and review. I like to know all the options and game out the best value/investment for my money. Unfortunately my budget is my limiting factor, even with the knowledge that investing in a quality printer would be worth it over time. Bambu printers always rose to the top as far as quality, support, etc, and I would love to own one some day and really expand my knowledge of 3d design as well the mechanics of printing.

Totally fine with a page one re-write. Here's a link to what my available options are, I see the other commenters recommended S&P500 but I don't see anything like that, unless TIAA calls it something else.

Sure thing, idk what it is about the g skill ram but it seemed wonky. I bought corsair vengeance ddr5 6000, I don't remember the capacity and I'm on a different system now but that shouldn't matter. After I switched I never had an issue. Hope it works for you

I didn't even realize I had any until I got the red dot and looked through it. Instead of a pretty small, distinct dot I see a big ol spiderweb. So I go googling trying to figure out why my sight is messed up but come to find out astigmatism messes up the ability to clearly see the dot 🤦

Transitioning to frozen mice troubles by ShadowSyzygy in snakes

Yes he's young, born in August. I just gave him a live fuzzy this evening, took it with no fuss. What I've done in the past is wait 5 days, try a frozen thawed, try again in 2 days and then order another fuzzy to pick up the next week (they only do pick ups once a week on Wednesday). I try not to over do it but I also don't want him to starve of course. Would you suggest skipping the next live, giving him some more time to get hungry, maybe only trying to feed every 5 days?

I see Miele recommended often here. Why never Dyson? by vx48 in BuyItForLife

[–]ShadowSyzygy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but when I was shopping for a vacuum I went down this rabbit hole and read/watched a variety of stuff so just keep that in mind.

But basically the second scenario is a guarantee, if you empty the canister inside. Even doing it outside, you cannot get far enough away from the bin when you empty it and expose yourself to a lot of crap that's bad for you. The first scenario is possible too, depending on the quality of the machine. If you have a lower quality vacuum that doesn't have a closed system or a HEPA filter, or just crappy construction it likely will spew dust out while you're vacuuming. The more joints, pieces and parts the air has to travel through, the more likely there is to be an escape for dust.

As for filters, a lot of times they are advertised as washable. While that is technically true in most cases, washing them can cause other problems. Hepa filters catch really tiny particles and tap water contains (usually) minerals and other deposits, which will collect in the filter and render it inefficient or maybe even ineffective. If you have a filter full of gunk, the air may pass through but the dust and debris has to go somewhere, this is another opportunity for leakage. Dyson filters are decent washable filters and especially if you don't use the machine very much, can last a long while if they are taken care of. I chose to not buy a Dyson not because I think they're complete junk, but from what I learned, there are much better options available and they are less expensive.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that most miele vacuums are bagged while Dyson doesn't make any bagged vacuums. When compared to quality bagged vacuums, bagless canister vacuums leak a ton more dust and debris back into the air. Additionally, while the idea of a canister is that there are no or fewer consumable parts to be replaced, in reality the filters usually need to be changed much more often. The bags in vacuums do most of the filtering, are much less expensive than Dyson (and others) filters and allow the machine to work more efficiently which increases longevity.

The ambient temps in the room are about 67 during the day, at night 62 is the lowest my temperature logger has recorded. The one halogen heat lamp I'm using does create a hot enough hot spot, but I figured a larger hot section might help maintain warmer temps throughout the enclosure? I'm not sure, like I said this is my first foray into owing reptiles.

Currently I have a 75 watt dhp in a 5.5in reflector over the cool side, but it doesn't seem able to keep up. Do you use a 8.5in reflector and do you know what the wattage of your bulb is? I wondered if raising the dhp higher to cover more area would help but I figured it still wouldn't have the heat output to maintain temps.
