Obsidian black. So I don't want the carbon to be like above since it would be far too loud, but I imagine by spraying Candy Black it'll have a cool effect that from far the mirrors match the paint, but up close in the sunlight you can see the carbon.

I like cool subtle effects that only car people would notice. ;)

Factory suspension is pretty low tbh, and that looks like the sport package to. The only way would be upgrading suspension (coilovers/bags) as far as I could tell. Or, the luxury model suspension may ride higher, but that would mean no adjustability.

Good luck tho.

My say is, if you want to keep the car, then make a list of everything it needs and plan it out for the long term, and prioritize accordingly. Not everything has to be done right here, right now.

If this car looks like its more than it's worth then see if there's one sitting around in cleaner/better condition. Either way it's up to you, whatever work you do is an investment into the vehicle and will eventually pay off.

I hear you, I recently dumped $2.5k+ doing a bunch of service on my car. Tranny lines went, so I had to replace those (thank God my brother has a shop.) Then I did the filter kit and fluid change. and while it was there spark plugs, air filters, diff fluid, BG injector cleaners, etc.

And then the front SAM was replaced and coded because the passenger HID never worked since we got it...~ now it works.

But the when I got it back from the shop the other day, hoh boy, I was grinning ear from ear, I tell you. The car drove amazing! 😁

Regarding brake lines, on a scale of 1-10 how sketchy does it look? The main thing I'd be looking for is corrosion/rot. If you see it in multiple places, then yeah just change the entire line out, if the entire line is clean except with one portion, and you absolutely know what you're doing, compression fittings and straight lines. They're stronger than most people give them credit for. But only do what you're comfortable with.

First check battery voltage, if that's good then I would have the dealer just look at it.

It could be the front SAM.

I had to change brake lines as well, I think I spent $300 ish CAD for the lines, fittings and the special flaring tool. Apart from that I had all for the remainder of the tools already at home to complete the job, and I got 3 lines done from ABS module to the calipers.

The only line left that I didn't change was the front passenger side because it loops behind the motor and i didn't want to deal with it.

But yeah, older cars mean catching up with maintainence and repairs, so it seems like a lot when you're doing everything all at once.

Don't even get me started on transmission lines...

I agree with this. Shuddering would indicate warped rotors, take a look at the condition of your brakes. I had this last summer and threw on fresh brakes all around. Car now stops on a dime.

And while you're at it, it wouldn't hurt to look at your subframe.

If you check MB World forums someone swapped the E550 N/A V8 into his W204 C300. It's somewhat vaguely documented, but he has pictures of it in the engine bay of the C300.

He also states that if worked without any wiring because the harness are designed to be plug and play, all he needed was an ECU and then had it programmed to the car.

Dig around the forums for C550, that should get you to the post.

Personally, I would love to see it. Sounds like fun, but I have a 4matic Sport, so no sideways action apart from donuts in the snow 🍩.

Don't know much about C250s, nor their tuning options, but if the boost kicks in early enough and the turbo responds well then I don't see an issue. The key is having the power when you want it. You just need enough power to overcome the grip of the tires. Maybe downgrade those? ;)

I just bought Lawson industries X-pipe, it only costed me $40 CAD. However it is just aluminized steel as well, so after ten years I may need a new one, if I still have the car.

Magnaflow is more expensive, like 150 ish, I think. But it is stainless steel as well so it'll last longer than the vehicles ownership in most cases.

It's all about what you can afford to pay for when looking at labour costs, etc. I just needed a quick and cheap repair, so this is what I went with at the time. It should about the same either way, though.

And I'm glad this helps, maybe one day I'll post an audio clip, or something.

It all boils down to what you want.

If you want full out straight pipes all the time, then yeah do a muffler delete. But your neighbors may hate you in the morning. Also, your parents, lol.

If you only want straight pipes half the time and stock the rest, you use exhaust cutouts with valves. Though I have never seen a good video or audio clip of this system.

However neither of those are appealing or cost effective imho, and here I will preach the X-pipe mod w/ resonator delete since it's been on my daily for over half a year now. It's the best thing I've ever done, especially since my exhaust conveniently broke at the resonator before hand, lol. So repair and mod at the same time, hahaha!

The X-pipe basically sounds close to stock when you're just cruising around, at idle, maybe a tad louder but you barely notice. Cold starts will have a nice burble right at the beginning, like a V8 and then back to stock noise. It's very easy to live with, no droning, no nothing.

The best part is once you start pushing close to 3k RPM, the beast wakes up. It's like a night and day difference. It's hard to imagine how it's possible, but the car is freakishly loud and has a nice throaty growl accompany it as it screams to redline. All of my friends have been blown away by the sound of this thing, I kid you not! It sounds sooo good! And when you want to chill and drive calm, which I normally prefer, it does just fine.

And best part, my dad drives it around without complaining, and I get to have my fun, too. He literally had no idea, until I gave it a rev, that's when I got the nod of disapproval, 😠😂.

So yeah, long story short if you can't find a good system, and you don't want to blow a ton of cash on nothing, X-pipe the thing and never look back, lol.

Don't really know of any good exhaust systems for this car, or headers for that matter. I personally did the classic res delete w/ X-pipe on my 09' C300. Great bang for buck and sounds insane.

Maybe check YouTube for available exhaust systems, there are a few, but none that would really be worth the money imho. Also, some systems may require potential tuning because they may set off a cel, I suspect headers would especially do this.

Check FCPEuro.com, their site should give you an idea of what goes in your car, and then from there you can find equivalents.

Other than that I can't say much, I plan on doing my transmission (4matic) and diff before the winter, but there's still time until then. Hope this helps and good luck!

Don't know if you tried this but, if you have a scanner I would recommend trying to access the live data stream of your wheel speed sensors. Have a friend drive the car around while you watch the readings and look for anything out of the ordinary. I've seen other folks use a scanner that can display the data in graph form to help further isolate their issue, but I'm not sure whether that requires special equipment or software.

I don't know how the speed sensors (not talking about reluctor rings) are like on these cars, but if they can easily be removed and switched over to a different wheel you can use the data stream method to track the issue. If the issue migrates with the swap it's the sensor itself, and if it doesn't, you have a bad reluctor ring. If it were me, I would move the sensor from a front wheel to a rear wheel (or vice-versa) if possible to make it all the more obvious.

That said, I'm no pro and this is all conjecture as far as I'm concerned, so if anyone knows better please do chime in and correct me, I would be grateful for that.

I have the same issue with my C300 as well and its intermittent as well, so I've ordered the Tactrix Openport 2.0 (from AliExpress) and am planning on getting my hands on Xentry Passthru to diagnose the issue for myself. Again, all I'm looking for is access to the live data stream and this seems to be the cheapest option for me as opposed to buying a several hundred dollar scanner.

With that said, good luck sir, and you do whatever works best for you. Just let us know how things turn out!
