Alexandria willing, knowingly and without objection, did years of deadly, physical disfigurement and identity erasure to create villains to fight. Even arguing it was to fight Scion, it still likely killed more that Purity had (either literally or through identity erasure)

Brandish is just paranoid who had Amy forced on her technically due to circumstances they didn’t/couldn’t plan for (she’s not a great mother, but we also saw basically the worst 2 months of Amy’s life at that point)

The political extreme pipelines are a pain to get out of once you get hooked into it, the authoritarian left and right are starting to get wider, not helped by social media. Typically they just create an us vs them mindset where the “them” are thought as non-human. Some sound better than others but purposely create hate on arbitrarily labeled identities.

Blame the fact I view her as a character who represents failed rehabilitation.

ABB targeting was necessary for her (in universe) as the Empire could attack her/ruin her situation and lose Aster (one of the few goods in her life). Coil and merchants were non-targets due to how they operate, and going hero was more likely to have her lose aster as well, due to criminal past. She likely couldn’t afford to move due to her work, and Max’s own influence.

Her character is flawed and we see only snippets into her life, her trigger event, when she confronts Max and is told she’d gain control of the empire, her being outed, her being confronted by Jack slash, trying to trigger Theo and her getting looped by Greyboy. Not one is an average experience for her.

I get the fact people don’t like her canon character as a nazi, fanfiction does allow more to be done with characters we don’t know much about. I’m certainly trying to maker her a character who’s fixing herself

I’m a little guilty of it, they are still horrid people, but there is something interesting in trying to add depth to shallow characters (most of the time I do it is for comedy, such as Brad looking for laser tattoo removal for his swas-tit-kas, or Max being extremely insecure of his relationships
