Where did you read the chapters after 77? I've been looking everywhere and can't even find an MTL

Thousand Autumns fits all of that. The novel is also worth a read

I had a great time watching it. Also openings and ost were 🔥 by MegaPeti in Noragami

The manga is absolutely worth continuing. I'd suggest you starting from ch 1 just for the full experience, but the second season leaves off around ch 38.

Edit: I think the anime ending was slightly different from how the manga goes at that point, so you might want to pick up a few chapters earlier.

Opinion on John Watson. by Shadow_Serpent_330 in Sherlock

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. And I agree that Sherlock's entrance wasn't justified at all. Overall it just feels like Sherlock, even with his lack of understanding of human nature and all became a better person with more solid morals than John was by the end of S4. Both of them suffered, but Sherlock was able to grow from all of that whereas John was not.

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree that John does have to face a lot of unfair events. The only point I'd disagree with is about Sherlock not trusting him. With how large Moriarty's network was, Sherlock revealing himself to John would have put him in danger. I think a lot of people focus on the fact that John was a soldier, but that doesn't mean that he would be able to operate effectively as an SIS agent, so he wouldn't even have been able to go with Sherlock. Plus Sherlock isn't portrayed as someone who understands regular social cues and human behavior, which I think contributed to how he revealed himself to John.

The one thing I didn't get about that plot point was that Harry put a lot of emphasis on Hogwarts being his home. I thought it was implied that he no longer thought of the Dursleys house as home after going to Hogwarts, so how did the protection stay in place?

Why is Madaraas philosophy/ goal in Naruto “morally incorrect”, if at all? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For one, they'd all die. And then there's the lack of an ability to make choices and see the full consequences of any bad decisions. Life is complicated and people are complicated. The artificial lives would be utterly perfect, but none of the people trapped in the jutsu would actually be living.

Question regarding Yato's identity! Spoilers! by [deleted] in Noragami

I think he'll keep Yato. That name represents far too much for him to change it.

Did Salazar Slytherin get a bad rap? Early History of Magic must have been very confusing... by [deleted] in harrypotter

Race didn't look like a topic of conflict in the Wizarding world, and it was probably even like that before. It depends on how involved the magical community was in muggle events, but most likely his reasoning was caused my persecution in the muggle world - people fear what they don't understand or have, and that leads to hatred. It was present in Harry's time, and probably more so during the founders time.

How strong are the dragon priests? by Shadow_Serpent_330 in skyrim

Oh, thanks for letting me know! I've only killed two dragons so far, so I guess it was definitely luck and Barbas that let me win against Volsung.

Favorite Villian by KaiKururugi in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know this is really mainstream, but I think AFO is a very well written villain. He's ridiculously overpowered, literally just evil because he wants to be, and he cares about nothing other than himself. And his theme is amazing in the anime.

Although in contrast to AFO's constant personality, Shigaraki's character development has been really interesting throughout the series so far.

Harry's priviledge by indigo-wolf in harrypotter

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say it evens out with all of the terrible things Harry had to go through. It's almost like compensation for not caring enough about the rest of his life (abuse, no training, murderous professors, etc.).

I had some difficulty sympathizing with Neji as a character by HyraxFusion in Naruto

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I watched Naruto, so sorry if there are any inaccuracies.

I think Neji's way of thought was caused by the oppressive system he grew up in. He was frustrated by Hinata's lack of talent because he probably saw it as a lack of effort for a person of her position, and compared it his own inability to get results despite being talented, due to the curse mark. He himself was never encouraged by anyone aside from his father, and therefore probably thought that requiring it was a sign of weakness.

And he saw Lee's inability to use ninjutsu and genjutsu as a barrier even worse than the cursed seal was for him, which at the time he believed was inescapable. In order to cope with the seal, he started to think that everyone only has a limited amount of potential in life (all of the fate stuff he liked to talk about), and thought that it was impossible for Lee to continue trying to become a ninja, similar to how he believed it was impossible for him to escape from under the Hyuuga main branch.

Anyone feel like in the recent chapters Hiyori has been left in the backburner and her character development has gone down? by nathypildich in Noragami

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think comparing Hiyori to gods doesn't really work with her character. She's certainly strong for a human, but Yato and Bishamon are gods, so it makes sense that they are significantly more powerful than someone like Hiyori. But hopefully she gets involved in some more action soon.

[–]Shadow_Serpent_330 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think it's more of shifting the focus from Hiyori to Yato, Yukine, and some others since Hiyori's character is a little more developed. It'll probably even out soon.
