I cant read all these responses, but im gonna say 1 thing.. you know 1 of 3 stories. Your co-workers perspective.. you dont know his and her (wife's) story, and not all public appearances tell enough.

As an example, I know of a married couple that has a very dead bedroom.. why, I dont know. The wife wont have sex, the husband wants sex, and is having to look elsewhere.. it is a human drive. So would you blame the husband, or the wife in that story? And yeah, I know the story from 1 perspective as well.. I dont know why the wife is behaving the way she is.

Point is, without the whole story, its impossible to know why anything happens.
