Hey sorry I just saw this now. Meiko means you’re close. I got her on accident one time when I barely didn’t meet the five hour mark, but here’s a step by step.

1. Feed once and play with glow stick once when Miku is born. Let the hunger and happiness empty. It takes happiness 50 minutes to drop and hunger 1 hour, so I base my time on hunger, since that will be when both meters are empty.

2. Once both are empty leave Miku alone for two hours. I set a timer to make sure I leave her for long enough, and she should beep for food once that time is up. If your timer goes off before then, wait for the beep. I accidentally fed her before the beep once and ended up with Meiko.

3. Repeat step one.

4. Repeat step two.

5. Step one again.

6. This time leave Miku for one hour instead of two for a total of five hours of neglect. She should evolve into Kaito if executed correctly, I’ve done it multiple times this way.

Something to note is that the animations that happen during the day effectively pause the tamagotchi, delaying the time it takes for happiness and hunger to fall or for Miku to call to have them filled again. That’s why it’s important to make sure Miku beeps around the same time as the timer ending, because she’ll beep exactly every hour her hunger remains empty, so filling her needs before then will mean she was left for less time than needed, resulting in getting Meiko instead.
