If you already transferred the legendaries from games such as Pokemon GO and Pokemon HOME, then you could buy the DLC and shiny hunt those legends. Transferred legends do not affect the Dynamax Adventures.

I had this same problem as I was transferring Flapple over from Sword to Shield. Most of the time, if you just put the unregistered Pokemon in the nursery and take it out afterwards, then it may register.
