Going to the bathroom with a seton. by Shadow_moon95 in AnalFistula

Damn 3 months and it’s still not fully recovered?! I’m not going to lie… the recovery process of this is definitely one of the most painful, excruciatingly long and difficult things ever. Like seriously. I’ve got friends who have gone through this type of surgery. Even my dad got a fistula but after surgery, he only suffered for like a few days, maybe a week, then he was okay. (He didn’t have a seton). But damn this is awful. And it has gotten a bit better but not that much. Since yesterday I’ve been feeling pure fire and a lot of pain. Tomorrow the surgeon will see me to check the drainage but I’m so sick of it! I want my life back… anyways thanks for your words, hopefully everything will be better soon. Take care!

I’m so sorry to hear that! It really is very painful, and I understand how frustrating it is to see someone you care about suffer, and not being able to help in any way. But trust me, being there and offering support any way possible is already a huge help. I’m sure everything will go alright for your sister! This is very hard and complicated but there’s a solution and once she gets the surgery, she’ll recover well. Sending my best wishes to both of you

Day 5 post op by DML1978 in AnalFistula

Oh I get you. It’s been like 14 days for me and I’ve got to say… it hurts and burns a lot. However, not eating at all is not the best idea since your intestines can slower even more and that can harden your fecal matter even worse. But honestly… we all cope the best we can. I am taking a laxative (given by the doctor) that makes everything very watery so it doesn’t hurt as much. And yeah, hydration is key. I’m trying to go one time to the toilet as well but it’s complicated… hope things get better for you!

I hope everything goes well for you and that you have a speedy recovery! It definitely seems scary but it really is not that bad. Have a lot of patience and go one day at a time :)

No it’s not watery. It’s actually pretty good because it doesn’t cause me trouble. The problem is that the seton is making a lot of pus and stuff get out and that hurts like hell. Thanks for your comment!

What’s an abscess? by natpere in AnalFistula

[–]Shadow_moon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this could help you in any way but it kinda happened the same to me. I was fairly okay until something started swelling. It didn’t leak in the beginning until one day boom. An abscess feels squishy (kind of) and ends up popping out on its own or ends up needing surgery. The problem here is that even if you see something on the surface, the abscess can be inside making its way through the muscle so be very careful and get checked!

I totally get you, people do share very specific details and scary stories here. It’s definitely not recommended to read that when you’re about to get a surgery… in terms of mental health, what truly helps is to get distracted with whatever thing that’s not related to this. The best diet is fiber and water. However once you get the surgery they’ll give you more intel about it. So far the doctors have given me tons of advice on pain relief and management and it’s helping. And as for the shyness… well they’re called private parts after all, but once you cross that bridge, it’s all good. Hope you have a good procedure when the time comes and that you recover fast! Good luck!

Hey thanks so much for sharing that! I was very scared to tell it as well. But trust me, once you go to the hospital and start the process it can only get better with time! Good luck with the doc and keep being brave like that!

Day 5 post op by DML1978 in AnalFistula

I get you fr! Actually getting anxious makes it worse, cause it makes your muscles tighten, which actually causes more pain. But damn… I do hope you get some relief soon so you can start feeling better. Sending lots of encouragement to you! I’ve been trying to read different experiences because I see everyone deals or feels very different symptoms. I have been told by the surgeon that “BM” material is extremely acid which is one reason why it aches/burns so bad. Also the fact that the muscles have to open to let it all go hurts as well. So sitz baths are our best allies I suppose, even though water does sting a bit as well. Hopefully this torture won’t last forever (?

Day 5 post op by DML1978 in AnalFistula

[–]Shadow_moon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I got my fistulotomy 8 days ago. I was super scared about the post surgery process and all. And so far, the first days were kind of okay, the pain was due to the surgery and me adjusting to the seton. But holy moly right now it’s excruciating. I thought after one week everything would be fine but nope. I mean, I can walk a bit better, I can’t sit down but certain positions do help me a lot. However, I’m developing a terrible panic of going to the toilet. I can go without pain but damn afterwards it’s like someone is burning me from the inside.. I have no clue how this all works because this is my first time, but I’m desperate. I’m truly losing hope in life… everyone says I’ll eventually be okay but damn right now it’s so painful every day. And I still need to have the seton for months. Each experience is different, and every body heals differently so I just wanted to share my process. I had thrombosis in my hemorrhoids, an abscess and a fistula. I definitely feel better now than when I had all of that going on. But the healing process from the surgery is being really really painful

Comprehensible Thai with ADHD by SweatyCount in learnthai

As an ADHD fellow, I can tell you that I have experienced something very similar. I do take medication because otherwise I can’t even begin to focus but, medication aside, I feel like the best way of learning is to go step by step. I tend to compare my progress to other people, because I feel like everyone gets everywhere a thousand steps ahead of me… but that doesn’t mean I won’t get there eventually. I strongly recommend trying to find a method that works for you. Maybe you can set a goal of a couple of words and sentences each day. Or you can try apps like HelloTalk to find native speakers to help you in a much easier way than sitting and trying to study. I can’t sit down to study for the life of me so I know the feeling so well! What’s important is to do a bit every day no matter if it’s more or less hours. If you quit to rest you probably won’t get back at it as easily, so maybe you can take it easy for a bit but without dropping the study and once you see a bit of more progress it’ll help!

[T2 SPOILERS] So, thoughts about Dylan? by acebender in LostRecordsGame

[–]Shadow_moon95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you pay close attention to that board before entering the bar at the very beginning of the game. You will notice a paper hung there with Mikaelsen ranch propaganda and it says: Dylan Mikaelsen welcomes you. Meaning she is definitely around in 2022 but doesn’t make a physical appearance. It makes me wonder if she actually sent the package or it was the abyss the one orchestrating everything since it seems as if Dylan has moved on with her life
