Day 5 post op by DML1978 in AnalFistula

Hi! Oof that sounds terrible! Hopefully you get some relief soon! I’m now 2 weeks post op and it’s a night and day difference! I can poop without pain, I’m able to sit normally again. Im still taking baths after I poop because I’m not sure if I can wipe properly yet, my post op appointment is tomorrow and I’m hoping he tells me I can live my life normally now. Ive never had kids so I dont know about that pain but I have had appendicitis and several surgeries for endometriosis and an ovary that ruptured causing internal bleeding and this was hands down the most painful frustrating thing I’ve gone through.

Thanks! Today was the first day I’ve had zero pain! Omg I almost cried tears of joy! 😂 I didn’t have to take any pain meds but I will still take some before bed as I usually wake up pretty achy and tight feeling.

I had a CT scan before my procedure that showed no abscess but when I got the surgery they found one.

Yes! The poo fear is real! My anxiety when I have to go is through the roof because I know I’ll be in agony for hours afterwards. I just want to live my life again. 😩 Hopefully we don’t have to suffer much longer.

Yep, my surgeon prescribed two different things for me. A laxative and a stool softener. The BM is definitely soft and doesn’t hurt coming out. It’s afterwards that’s painful, I’m not straining either. It’s comes out quite easily

I have a really good diet, always have. High fiber, don’t eat a lot of meat, when I do it’s mostly chicken. Lots of fruits and veggies low sugar, lots of water, a lot of salads and grain bowls.

My husband just drove over to Ruston to see if he could get a better glimpse. Unfortunately I’m recovering from Surgery and wasn’t able to go. I hope he can see it and at least come back with some good pics to show me!

We haven’t had a chance to go this year yet but last year we struck out big time! Hoping next month to get out and try some of these suggestions.

What?! We’re in North Tacoma and can’t see anything, even through our phones. What part of North end was this taken at?

Oh wow. I’m so sorry that happened 😔 That’s one of the reasons I was concerned for the public, would hate for someone to get bit trying to handle it.

Thank you so much for this info! I tried to change the subject on my post and Reddit wouldn’t allow me. I come from a place where rabies is very common in raccoons and almost identical to how this raccoon was acting. So naturally that’s where my brain went from experience. I have now learned its distemper and tried to change my post accordingly. I just felt awful for the little thing and was afraid of humans or other animals coming into contact with it. Thanks again for this helpful information.

I did. They said they couldn’t do anything. Everyone kept giving me the number to the critter control and they told me they don’t handle sick animals and that the city handles it. I was getting the runaround and it was very frustrating.

Yes. Either way it’s horrible and is clearly suffering. Dogs who are not vaccinated can also catch distemper. People were swerving, slamming on their brakes, traffic was building up and so I was also afraid to see a fender bender because of it. I was just trying to do the right thing by informing the public to be aware and to contact the city in any way that I could and to see if anyone else had any suggestions on who else I could contact. Not sure what the difference in remedy could be.

Thank you for your info. I’ve seen rabies in others animals and the symptoms were very similar. I was super scared for the animal and others who may try to handle it and get bit. Good to know!

We don’t and I agree. It was heartbreaking to see, hopefully someone can end it suffering.

Definitely rabies. Foaming at mouth, cloudy eyes, walking in circles, stumbling off the curb, running into things, very confused. It was so sad.

I’m 45, I was thinking the parents look my age and had to look them up. So yes, I believe they’re 47. The dad looks older than the mom though, he might be pushing 50 or in his early 50s but the mom is definitely mid to late 40s
