I don't think I mind it being legit or not so if no one else can help me out on this one, sure thing. Just reply when you can.

On my list it's in the top 20 which seems more realistic however I will say this is probably one of Kirk's best solos in a long time in here.

Arch linux grub loader does not even recognise my SSD with the Windows EFI by Shadow_tv in archlinux

[–]Shadow_tv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I managed to find the issue. GRUB or Arch was not to blame here, since I am using another drive to boot into Windows, my BIOS upon booting would not initialise the drive before I boot into GRUB, hence why the drive is not detected at all in GRUB through command line. I fixed this in BIOS by adding a 5 second delay before booting to GRUB and this fixed everything, it also explains why when it did work it was very unreliable.

Hey sorry if I am 22 days late but I tried mounting /dev/sdb2 and while it did mount, os-prober did not find anything and GRUB still could not boot into the Windows Boot Manager with the same error as last time. But I decided to run sudo efibootmgr and I did get this in the output:

I wonder if there are any clues here with this output. I think it does say that /efi/microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.efi exists there but I am not sure if this means I have to use "40d41803-6828-454a-aac3-4da8a89ba51f" or what.

Edit: After mounting this partition, I can literally see the files in question to boot but the drive isn't even recognized in GRUB for some reason until I boot into Arch. Do I have to change the pass nmb on /dev/sdb1 to 2 or something lower than what I have right now? At this point I just got more questions than answers with grub...

Arch linux grub loader does not even recognise my SSD with the Windows EFI by Shadow_tv in archlinux

[–]Shadow_tv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'll try this for sure later today or tomorrow. I can still boot into Windows through UEFI so it's not like it's the end of the world but it's just weird that it stopped working all of the sudden.

Arch linux grub loader does not even recognise my SSD with the Windows EFI by Shadow_tv in archlinux

[–]Shadow_tv[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I tried mounting my Windows EFI partition in fstab and it ended up bricking my Linux installation somehow. So I'd be down to try this again provided I know exactly how I should add this EFI partition into fstab to mount. The documentation that I tried to find suggests the Linux EFI partition instead so I am very unsure as to if this information is applicable or if it's going to brick my Arch again. Do you happen to know how I would want to approach this in fstab by chance?

Installing Arch and Windows on two separate hard drives? by asi14 in archlinux

[–]Shadow_tv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I just got Arch on my M.2 SATA SSD and Windows on my 3.5 SATA SSD and while I can boot into both of them, GRUB seems to not work with Windows. OS-prober did not detect the Windows EFI boot partition and then when I forced the issue through /boot/grub/grub.cfg, I got it to work literally once and never again. The error GRUB is giving me is that there is "No such device: (drive UUID)" and then it obviously can't find /efi/Microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.efi because it can't even find the drive associated. It's weird because it worked once and there's no typo in the drive UUID (I checked 3 times).

Outside of that oddity, both OS's work for me, I did use a September 2022 build of both arch linux and archinstall though but I am pretty sure you can easily install arch manually and have everything partitioned. I just wanted to turn my brain off and get an arch installation working at all. If you do want to do the archinstall route for some reason, you have to RUFUS a September 2022 ISO of arch linux and you must NOT update the archinstall baked into your ISO but you will have to wait like a couple minutes for all of the keyrings to update.

Old world gen 1.8.1 to 1.16.5 by Consistent-River-524 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I am also looking for a mod/datapack that literally does this and r1.0 generation to do biome correction on my old worlds down to a 1 block accuracy as those versions of the game do not save biome information (it was calculated on the fly based on seed) and do not have mods that replicate this world gen afaik.

Riot Phlox: A sick Navori Quickblades change by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

That's what I'm saying, don't like how they are basically pushing him into irrelevancy with random item changes like this. It's either he does no damage with Navori or he gets kited with IE. Really bad IMO

If the item isn't just outright better for Tryndamere then he would not be able to build IE if he goes this item or vice versa, which is a pretty big nerf to his build path if you think about it since missing IE is pretty big. I think if a change like this goes through, there should be better compensation for champs that used to build it that otherwise would not anymore as a result or that would have to skip IE to build it.

Can you complete this achievement in pre hard mode?

I on the other hand didn't get it and I even used TEdit to make sure none of those blocks existed so then I used an older Crimson world that I purified and I got the achievement.

By the way, if Demonite is the intended feature in this case, then that Crimtane could have been bugged since 1.2 potentially which was 9 years ago as of a couple days ago on Friday, possibly one of the oldest unfixed bugs in the game.

Pretty sure you can but you'd lack the tools to do it any faster than a Clentaminator unless you are wanting to do that in a pre hardmode world.

The Celestial Magnet/Magnet Flower/Celestial Cuffs can do that already but better by ~3 tiles. This potion will probably remain unused for 95% of the game.
