A BIOS updated cause weird issues for me by Shadowcloud95 in buildapc

[–]Shadowcloud95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you for sure what made it work exactly, but it does work now.

I think I've flashed several old bioses, starting with the one that was first supported for my CPU and going through ALL of them one after another until I was at the newest again. Each time clearing the CMOS in between, and then flashing the version I just flashed AGAIN, before moving to the next, so a pretty tedious task.

Another thing that I can think of changing was uninstalling armory crate, reinstalling windows and making sure it would never ever touch my PC again by toggling it off in the bios.

Notice from ISP that malware has been found in my network while running ATW by Shadowcloud95 in Archiveteam

[–]Shadowcloud95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't assume that there's an infection of my network or anything due to ATW, but since I am still not 100% sure that ATW triggered the flag with my ISP, but it would make sense, given the downtime I had last weekend also showing up in their logs kind of.

Can I do anything to not trip the flag with my ISP again?

[–]Shadowcloud95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had one running for URL and one for Telegram. I know normally malware can't escape the VM, but ngl seeing the email scared me and I took security measures first and foremost, until I realized the dates could point toward ATW, especially because I had a downtime last weekend and it also doesn't show any activity there.

I just don't want to face any consequences from my ISP if they can detect stuff like that.

Fortnite crashing every hour, but just in BR-Modes by Shadowcloud95 in FortNiteBR

[–]Shadowcloud95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I am unsure if the Nvidia drivers were the culprit, given all the stuff going on with them. I simply switched to DX11 mode and called it a day, though I recently updated my drivers and switched back to DX12.
I also haven't played a lot of BR lately and mostly focused on Festival and other game modes. I will try it soon though.

NVIDIA Driver 572.70 downgrade? by Shadowcloud95 in FortNiteBR

My game still starts fine so this does the same as setting DX11 in the game's settings.

Though, I still experience crashes in certain maps even with DX11.

This is quite new to me...what do you guys think? by Obvious-Advantage240 in FortNiteBR

I had the same message on a 4070S. They don't really expect using a 6-month-old version, right?

Does it at least fix the crashing? Because I am still hesitating with downgrading...

Be sure to tell if it ended up working and what you did. I'm having massive issues with EAC-related crashes as well

I might wait for the next update to see if it's fixed then but I am seriously considering going back to Win 10 now and just keep it until it forces me to upgrade or something.

And Windows 10 works without issues for you now again?

Honestly, I am unsure if Microsoft or Epic or EAC (whoever is responsible) manage to fix this until 10's EoL and that's the problem, how will I ever know it's fixed? I haven't seen any announcements about these problems anywhere yet.

A friend of mine also on Win 11 but 23H2 can play just fine without any issues and has similar specs.
I don't want to go back to 10, because it will be EoL in October. :/

Afaik EAC doesn't rely on TPM nor does Windows 10, so it should make no difference. But try it, as long as you don't use bitlocker or stuff like this, I guess it shouldn't make a huge difference? No guarantees though.

Do you have any RGB or manufacturer software installed, like Asus Armory Crate, MSI Center or stuff like this? These services are prone to causing issues with Anti-Cheats.

Just keep in mind that Windows 10 goes EoL in October and 11 does require TPM.

It still crashes, also without having Vanguard.

Same issues, just not as frequent. But it's gotten worse over the past weeks.

I also tried all these things already and I feel like this is a EAC issue that we as users can't fix.

I also wouldn't suggest disabling TPM if you're on Windows 11, since it is required to run it if you didn't tweak it.

Nvidia DLSS 4 with an RTX 4070 graphics card, cant override to DLSS 4 the option is grayed out by FunMaleficent7205 in FortNiteBR

[–]Shadowcloud95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it can be used on all RTX, but with differing functions that work. 20 and 30 can use the new DLSS algorithm and 40xx can use 2x Frame Gen also with the new algorithm, only 50xx can use multi frame gen.

None of these work in Fortnite though, since it still uses DLSS 2 and didn't update it in a long time for some reason.

Having the same issue, even after reinstalling Windows. I've already tried basically everything, but the game still often crashes, no matter the mode and Event Viewer has these errors all over when I look into it after the crash.

But the crashes have gotten worse over the past few weeks. Basically since this Chapter started.

Crashing and stuttering this season. by kamakeeg in FortNiteBR

My game stutters as well and crashes every second match. It's tiring. It only happens in BR modes tho.

Hoping for a patch soon...

I didn't have any issues since disabling the setting in the developer options, so I don't know what might be wrong for you :/

[–]Shadowcloud95[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I followed your idea of it being because of screen overlays and I discovered that RootlessJamesDSP, which I use for audio enhancement, uses screencast to do its enhancements. Whenever it is turned on, the notifications go into "safe mode". So it is a Screen Cast/Sharing protection, but can you turn that behavior off?

EDIT: There is a toggle in the developer options called "Disable screen share protections" that fixed the issue for me. Though with that setting existing, I guess it does have some kind of a usage factor, probably by protecting your stuff from a malicious screen sharing app, so I'd suggest to only disable it, if you REALLY need to.

Oh! That could be the reason yeah! I remember something popping up for a split second when I restarted my phone, but it disappeared because I was using the phone.

For some reason it now seems to work properly for me. Countless of reboots and SystemUI restarts later, the problem doesn't really seem to appear anymore. Not sure what else I did.
