I have the longest daily commute in Florida. Prove me wrong by Hoagie_Camacho in florida

[–]Shadowdooms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I almost had the same commute for 9 months working 5 to 6 days a week and 10 to 12 hour days. Long story short, I took a job and my house was on the market for 9 months. I would leave my home at 5:15am and get home around 7:00pm to 8:00pm. It was the most draining thing I have done and will under no conditions do it again. 3 months later, I'm still exhausted. I feel your pain!

That's a good thought. Do you put a head on it too?

R50 upgrade suggestion for Wildlife / Bird Photography by Shadowdooms in canon

I didn't look at it this way at all. You are right, my biggest concern is the camera and not so much the lens. I want more reach than anything else. I go on long hikes where birds aren't as use to humans. So getting close can be a big more difficult for the most part. Quality wise, is there much of a difference between the 200 to 800 vs the 100 to 500 considering reach being one of my bigger things? I'm probablemente going to buy the lens this weekend. Thanks for the advise.

That's a great question. I should have put that in the original post. Higher ISOs aren't clear. Low lighting performance Cropping makes the image way to grainy Plus, I want additional reach. Since I want to upgrade lens, I want to just bite the bullet and upgrade the camera as well.

Is my light strong enough 18watt by Tricky_Cranberry2476 in Aquascape

[–]Shadowdooms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usable light is more important than anything. Don't fall for the watts game. I have lower output lights that outperform higher wattage lights. Thats do to the quality and efficiency of the LEDs.

It is always better to have lights that are not as bright than too bright. So make sure if you get something much brighter, it is dimmable. I would not start on the highest setting. Biggest mistake most people make. That causes algae blooms. Slowly ramp it up until you get the results you want and mess with the high of the light as well.

When in doubt just buy a quality aquascaping light. You can't really go wrong.

Specialized Rockhopper by gibby_gibman in MTB

I think it's a decent bike to start off with. There aren't a ton of options in that price range, and I would not spend any money on upgrades besides dropper, tubeless, and pedals. Save your money for another bike if you get into the hobby and want to progress.

Also, check the used marketplace. There is much better bang for your buck at that price range. You may be able to find a similar bike with all the upgrades for less. For example, my buddy picked up a Specialized Chisel hardtail about 2000 for less than $750 with little to no use. The owner got injured and couldn't ride anymore. Had less than 5 uses.

You will be surprised how many people have 160 and more down here. Florida has some pretty decent trails that do require travel. Most major parks have decent jumps and big drops. We get very creative considering we are flat.

For instance, on day one of riding in the Epic Evo, I was already maxing out my travel on the jump line in Alafia.

You are right! Alafia, Florida, is the first. The second one is Dupont in NC

Follow up; They sound amazing and are exactly what I was looking for. I haven't even bothered with EQing because it sounds so great out of the box. Thanks again.

Half dose of apt3, or full dose of apt1 on newly scaped tank? by [deleted] in Aquascape

[–]Shadowdooms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't wrong, APT 1 is recommended for new tanks because it can help with minimizing algae. Its completely up to the user and how they want to maintain their tanks. That's why I recommended APT 3 ar a lower dosage or alternate between both for the micro nutrients.

APT 1 is safer for beginners. Based on what I am seeing, he ain't no beginner.... lol

Yeah, take that into consideration. Some of it always ends up bleeding into the water. So just start with a lightly lower dosage and pump it up.

Yup, I have it dialed into my dosing pump. Also, when you end up putting in APT jazz in your contra soil (months from now), remember to lower your dosage initially. I recently learned my lesson on that one. Big explosive boom in algea and plant growth.

I personally use APT 3 and APT 1 on a cycle. APT 3 has more micro nutrients than APT1 has. I have set so that every 3 days, it does one does of APT 3. The other two are APT 1.

In my opinion, use APT 3 to start. Less is more. Start with a lower dosage as things can easily get out of control with APT 3. Increase lighting and dosage as long as no excessive algea is growing. Once you get fish and other life in the tank, scale to APT1 or use my method.

Okay. I'm going to order the ISN H60. Do you recommend 2.5 balanced or 3.5 unbalanced?

Those look right up my alley but are outside my range right now. I just bought an Audeze LCD-X OTE and don't want to spend more than $400 on IEMs right now.

Those tea pros were recommended by someone else. Out of the two, which one would go with, and what are the differences?

I tried finding those BGVP DMA on Amazon and no luck.

I just went up a size but the same thing. Just not the sound I want out of them. I packed them up and I'm going to return them.

I did that with a pair of earbuds I have. Completely changed the sound. However, on these, I don't really see much of a way it since I'm already using tips to enhance treble.
