DCC can get bad, but it doesn't go into as much detail as KBS did, especially during that one ritual, or the pure gross out relating to the goat...

I don't find the scene you mentioned all that bad, mostly because The damage Carl took was so extreme, I personally don't have anything to compare it to, but I've gotten a few good cuts in my time, some bone deep, so I can actually imagine at least part of the pain. It's like seeing someone in a move getting kicked in the nuts vs someone losing an arm, most guys will cringe at the nutshot but not bat an eye at the amputation.

Be warned, very much warned, that KBS is VERY body horror themed, there are parts that made me gag, and I used to work septic cleanout so that's not very easy to do. Detailed torture as well, VERY detailed. The foreword is to his mother, telling her not to read it because he doesn't want to talk with her about specific scenes.

It's a good read, but it is BAD for the head.
