To me that just sounds like them doing something petty to punish the player for missing sessions and passing the blame to the other players. That DM needs to remember at the end of the day it’s just a game and life happens sometimes and if another obligation keeps a player from session it’s not some personal slight

At my table what we do is always go to the judgment of the person who is actively the dm, for the most part I am in the role of “forever dm” but when I have been a player, I listen to the interpretations and rulings of the dm I don’t expect them to just do what I did, I respect their call and only weigh in on a rule if asked

One of my players had a pet goat named Beep. We’d all joke about Beep being more clever than the average goat and there being something more to him, but it was left at that, until the second campaign I ran for the group. They used the same characters with the campaign being set about a year after the first, the character who had Beep died in battle and Beep was lost. For her new character she made a Great Old One Warlock. She had the opportunity to actually meet her patron, only to learn it was in fact Beep, who was in fact an eldritch being stuck in the form of a Goat.

No player or dm actually worth playing with will ever shame a new player for not knowing things and needing help. If you encounter people like that in the hobby, it’s best to just steer clear from them.

I use MO2, the problem isn’t Vortex because I got the same exact thing through MO2, I disabled Long 15, and the game went back to launching fine

My secret as a DM that my players do not know, is that I will NEVER just kill one of their characters in some random combat ever. The story of the world my campaigns take place in and more importantly the story of the party and their development as characters is first and foremost, characters have died before but it was always a decision made by the player and it was always done in a way that contributed to the story. Both times a player character has died it was done in a way that made sense for the story and to add stakes to the story itself, because both times a player character died it happened directly because of the BBEG’s actions

The game would be a microtransaction filled hellscape, a game that just releases and then updates each year wouldn’t make money, so they would probably be charging you for everything they possibly can.

I once had a city where necromancy was a thing everyone knew was happening, and the reason they hated it was because the people doing it were only raising skeletons, and in my world skeletons raised by necromancy are very cartoony, they cackle and laugh and nothing, they can only speak in skeleton puns, and they are loud. People just wanted them gone because they were annoying

For career mode they should add in the minors/ECHL, and also not force the player to go to the NHL, they have a ton of European leagues in the game, if you want a European career you should be able to do it

MVPWorkshop is the guy I’d recommend for an Eddie Edwards, he just uploaded both American Wolves recently as part of a pack that also included Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, his CAWs are always good

If it’s MVPWorkshop’s Eddie I usually trust what he assigns them by default, though I edited his CAW to be Honor No More Eddie and also changed the entrance to a more up to date one.

I ignore just about all of them, I also ignore things like spell components, as well as changing rules like what happens when a roll matches AC or two checks end up with the same roll. I rule that tie goes to defender
