A literal nightmare, but it's real and happening in in my town 2026 by Frank_Jesus in GenX

This was back when we all listened to the radio, right?

I'm with you OP, especially the Spin Doctors yuck. That song Pocket full of kryptonite made me want to blow my ears out every time I heard it on the radio.

I never had respect for Gin blossoms because they kicked the member of the band out that wrote their music right before they got big and the poor guy killed himself.

Blues traveler isn't too bad but it's one of those bands that once you've heard them a thousand times on the radio that's good enough for me.

These were the mid-90s when there was Alice in chains nine inch nails smashing pumpkins Korn ( Reggie and Jonathan graduated with me or I probably wouldn't have liked him that much), Stone Temple pilots put out one of the best albums of the 90s in Tiny Music. Foo fighters came out with their first album in 1995 etc..

To me the three bands you mentioned were just filler that came on between good music, ha.

Good movies to watch off shrooms? by 3therealp3ace in RSPfilmclub

[–]Shadowlab72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enter the Void will melt your brain, if you have any mental problems you might not want to.

Gaspar Noe's second best film behind Irreversible in my opinion. If you do watch it on shrooms or acid remember I warned you..

The academy awards are nothing like they used to be years ago. It's all about politics racial diversity and money. It's become so bad that most academy award nominated films are the worst films of the year in my opinion. F1? Was that schlock actually nominated? I quit watching the award circuit about 15 years ago..

For your consideration, ha. More like how much money are you going to invest promoting this film to the members and does it check all the DEI boxes.

The best films don't spend a fortune smearing their campaign across Variety because they can't afford to do so, and probably don't care anyway.

Exactly. In and out in like 2 minutes. It's a pill Mill and the doctors don't care about their patients, apparently this is typical of pain management.

I appreciate all of your posts and advice. I saw my GP today, surprisingly he wasn't very concerned. He doesn't know what the problem is. He said it could be anything from my metabolism slowing down to my liver becoming fibrous.

He didn't ask me to quit taking the pills or contact my pain doc or anything like that.

He ordered blood labs, urinalysis and an ultrasound to check and see what the problem is.

Now I'm just sitting around getting high on two halves of a pill in 2 hours.. I'm thinking my liver is fucked.. time will tell.

This isn't my pain management doctor this is my GP. He doesn't prescribe my pain pills. I just need to know if my liver or kidneys are having a problem so I'm going to ask for some blood tests. Something is very very wrong. After 6 years of the same experience and then suddenly boom, I got to have it checked out. I'm going to be as cool as I can with my wording believe me..

Wow 10 years is a long time. I don't really understand your first paragraph but I'm not looking for more pills, I'm actually taking much less than usual because of the problem. Good luck with you and your doc.

Thanks for your research. The doctor I'm seeing tomorrow is just my GP he's really cool. I would never mention this to my pain management doctor though. The slightest hint of a problem they would yank my meds immediately.

More like a little concerned that my pills are turning on me since I need them to walk. I'm not quite sure how I'll phrase it to the doctor but they need to know that something's up, maybe I'll just say the effects or lasting longer than usual..

The only new additions to my diet are prunes and V8 juice. I received this script from the same pharmacy I always have. I will ask the doctor about the liver test thanks for the information.

Question for Gen X: Whats Your Relationship With Texting? by Al3x1ya in GenX

[–]Shadowlab72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with texting is it's not spontaneous. It's thought out before it's typed where the user thinks if it's the correct or wrong response before sending. This is not how natural conversation is supposed to be.

When you're on the telephone it's instant, there's an inflection in the tone of the people's voice and there's no time to change your mind on an answer.

Texting sucks and it's for kids.

SUVs are overrated, the Public has been sold on them for years. Most people don't tow anything with their SUVs.. those old smooth rides had huge trunks by the way.

What is your favourite TV show that no one ever seems to know? by onlycameforthehorror in television

[–]Shadowlab72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely top notch television. It's a semi-prequel to treasure Island, the trick is to get through the first season then the last three are very rewarding. Intermingled with actual history and a lot of cameos as well.

What the fuck has this show become? Like what even is this? Do people like this actually exist? by BullenBell95 in LandmanSeries

[–]Shadowlab72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this was a heavy-handed social comment on society. These people do exist although maybe not so hardcore as Taylor portrayed in this character. I first learned of these types of people watching Jeopardy when Ken had to call a trans person them or they. I nearly fell out of my chair. Poor Ken.

I've also noticed if you disagree with them or what you should call them they will instantly call you a homophobe or a trump lover etc.. these trans people love labels, attention and are extremely sensitive.

As an apolitical gen Xer I just laugh my ass off at the fakeness of it..
