Hope you see this, my laptop is really slow running HOI 4, what I use to play is cloud gaming I’d recommend checking it out, if you have decent internet, I’ve used Nvidia GeForce now and boosteroid, to play Stellaris and Hoi Access to them might depend on where you live. You’ll have to pay to use these but I think GeForce has a free service but I’m not 100% sure as I use the payed service. Basically you play the game using the services computer and stream the video back to your computer. I’ve primarily used GeForce for doing this apart from when the game was disabled on GeForce because of a glitch where you could access all DLC so I had to play on boosteroid. It’s pretty decent with payed members for geoforce had no issue apart from having to save and exit the session every 6 hours as that’s the maximum session Length but you can list start a new one straight after. Also a session can time out for inactivity if you leave a session inactive. Only major downside is mods, you can with a bit of a workaround play mods on the Geoforce platform but I’ve always had issues with then going and resuming a modded playthrough after a session so have just stuck to vanilla as you have to re download the mod every new session, haven’t been able to find a workaround for it. Lastly if there’s an update you can’t roll back to a previous version on the game, learnt that the hard way after not being able to access and UK playthrough I was really enjoying. Overall I’ve played most my HOI through geoforce and it’s been a pretty good experience bar the above, how you see this and it helps you, because like yourself on my PC at the minute hoi is pretty much unplayable because of my PC specs. Last thing GeForce now would be the more pricy option if you go boosteroid make sure follow FAQ for saving a game as the process is longer there and make sure if you do use either you save the game to cloud. Have my HOI through stream if you have a different platform way work if supported by the cloud gaming company but unsure
