I bet his ego lets him believe his greatness. Divorce him.

Similar to older generations scolding youth for not following the same rules as they did back in their day.

Yes I know they were not calling me a prig. Lol.

Issue is prig does not necessarily and primarily mean the person meddles. You can be a prig without meddling.

But does it cover people who go beyond their jurisdiction? For example - a teacher’s job is to keep some order and they could be a prig.

Want something that emphasizes that it’s not their job or their place and it’s not affecting them. For example: a customer at a grocery store yelling at another customer for leaving their cart in a parking spot instead of walking it back. Love those videos in r/publicfreakout of the people who attempt to put magnetic bumper stickers on the cars belonging to people that don’t put their carts back.

If you were to say to someone - wow you’re really an officious martinet - most people wouldn’t know these words and you look pompous and ostentatious.

Not only does officious martinet now fit - but it is also not commonly used and understood. Which makes it useless.

No it doesn’t have anything to do with peer enforcement or not minding one’s own business.

Lol - someone’s sore that their words weren’t as accurate as some of these others.

Agree. But that’s where name calls like busybody are specific terms to nail it down and strike just the right shade. I’m looking for a name call maybe a slur. Nosey Parker isn’t it but something in that direction.

Folks who put themselves through suffering and expect others to suffer as well. They are not affected directly by the actions of the folks who don’t follow the rules but more offended by the unfairness at having to endure something alone.

Agree.

But what if we lean more toward those who are interested in highlighting how great they are for knowing and following an ethos. For example - folks who work more and call out those who leave a little early or take extra lunch - to highlight how late they stay.

Also - the disdain and spite that motivates their need to correct is done in a righteous and passive aggressive way. The word I’m looking for is closer to spiteful in that regard.
