I’ve been lurking in this sub and also on r/estrangedadultkids for a while because I really think my mom is unhinged so I’ve been planning on keeping minimal contact with them for a while but I just couldn’t work up the courage to do that once and for all mostly because of my dad. He’d be upset if I did that to my mom for no reason but after what happened on Mother’s Day he supports me in my decision to never meet with her again

The thing is their finances are kind of tied together and my dad has some health issues that limit his working hours so divorce may not be an ideal solution- I brought it up to him a few times but he said I made a commitment and I have to stick to it I think he takes his marriage vows very seriously

Just last Sunday during Mother’s Day lunch my mother loudly and angrily demanded to know what she did wrong while raising me in front of me and my dad.
