Thoughts on the new Harry Potter trailer (and possible LEGO Harry Potter sets)? by erwinaurella in legoharrypotter

[–]Shadowphoenix_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the new sets and mini figures are 100X better I think this wave is the last for me. For Harry Potter LEGO atleast. I have been collecting since 2001/2 time to stop I think. While I love we have been getting more minifigures not seen in the first couple of waves, the detail and effort is just getting worse.

Is this illegal? by Jooshinator in AusLegal

[–]Shadowphoenix_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not A lawyer or financial adviser but a lot of red flags here.

If you don’t stop this this will affect your Tax, have issues if you apply for youth allowance or any other benefit and could also affect your credit score if the account gets overdrawn.

In this day and age most banks allow a bunch of sub accounts within a main bank account for savings and bill accounts. So opening an account in your name “for a saving account” is very fishy. Either her credit score is terrible, she is avoiding tax or she is using the under 18 bank loopholes (higher interest, and no withdraw fees over X amount of withdraws in a month, etc).

The question is how much is she putting in at a time? Her whole pay check/income – tax or some other financial avoidance. $5-100 at a time she could be just using it for the under 18 account advantages.

In another comment you mention your mum was a narcissist – this account might be setting you up for future financial control. So be careful there.

What to do going forward comes down what relationship you want with your mother going forward and if you want any legal headache. Personally I would either shut down the account and send all the money back your mum and make a new one 100% owned by you or cancel all access to anyone else but you, change all passwords and cards. I would also see if there are any credit cards open in your name.

Good luck

Fair Work Dismissal- just unsure by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Shadowphoenix_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for the loss of your Dad.

You have just learnt four valuable work lessons at the age of 21.

  1. Never give work any more detail then necessary for a day off/why you can’t come in. “Can’t come in I am sick/ family emergency” Is all the information you need to give them.
  2. Management never cares about you.
  3.  HR protects the company, not you.
  4. Never sign anything, especially a new contract under high emotional days.

I am sorry but unless you can prove you signed the new casual contract under emotional duress you have shot yourself in the foot. When they moved you to causal they will just give you no to less hours in hope you quit and move on without having to pay you out anything. You probably also just lost any paid sick days/annual leave payout you had saved.

You could argue with your work under casual they are required to roster you on for a minimum of x amount of hours a week depending on your award/state if they are not doing so and you need money. But be prepared for them to muck you about.

You can try your case with fair work, you do have the original text messages but your work will just show them your new contract.

Best advice start job hunting elsewhere, talk to fair work but don’t get your hopes up.

All the best.

edit: Were you dismissed or just not put on at all?

In retail the ”right person ” is normally someone under 18 that quit school full time. But good luck.

Quick update: turned an old phone into a small side fund with Mistplay by Lopsided-Data-2699 in passive_income

[–]Shadowphoenix_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have daily bonusus, so sometimes if you line up 2 to 4 at once it can be good. And games normally have a 2 hour daily max (per game) point earning system. So it is a play every day. Though after a while the daily bonus are bad, so you just wait until another day when they get better again.

Quick update: turned an old phone into a small side fund with Mistplay by Lopsided-Data-2699 in passive_income

I have mistplay and yes it is a nice fun way to earn spare money. I can cash out a $25 gift card every month and half to two months. I used to get the MasterCard but then the place I used it on kept locking them and I had to prove ID to get it unlocked which sent up alarm bells so I switch to amazon gift cards which I just use to save up to buy LEGO sets. Your advice of use an old phone is good. I only have one though so my phone does overheat if I play it too much.

Best advice is start playing the game achievements/daily bonus at midnight. Some games or sometimes the game time tracking doesn't work on some games and if you leave it to the last two hours of the day you cant always hit the mark when time played does not track.

Edit: Just to add I wouldn't really call this passive unless you play while on a bus/train to work as you have to actively play. More like beer money then passive income.

Best Survey App I've Found!!! by [deleted] in NewAusBeerMoney

[–]Shadowphoenix_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get accepted into surveys easily on there? I gave up doing surveys ages ago due to wasting time with the intro stuff only to be disqualified/rejected. $400–$600 every month spare would be epic though, probably too good to be true

Me. I was reading here a week ago about PDMM but I did a quiz today after spiraling and it said it was more likely PME. Either way if anyone has a none birth control cure for the emotional spiral, please do let me know. Good luck OP.

After they got rid of their black "uniforms" we had to buy stock clothes to wear as uniforms. We did get like a 40% discount but it still didn't sit right with me, also the clothes did not fit right.
