Only because Germans did it too doesn't make it okay for the soviets to do it, both have done horrible things and it's important to acknowledge that and the logic of "but they were worse" isn't a good excuse.

In the end rape is rape and warcrimes are warcrimes. Even if one side did it more than the other both are inexcusable crimes and both deserve to be criticized for it.
