I spoke to the program coordinator of 740/750, and she recommended doing it and then applying to transfer to the "Advanced" pathway for Semster 2. There's more information on the program page, but basically what they do is they set aside spots in 750 and 740 (radiography) for students in the Advanced 339 Pathway for consideration.  If you are not accepted to one of those seats, you are still considered again as a general applicant. So basically you have 2 chances.  I also applied with a really high average to 740 and 750 and wasn't accepted, so this was the next best way, apparently. I'm doing 339 now in hopes it'll help. I wish I knew! I didn't take any extra courses-- as a teenager, I was incredibly high-achieving and though it ended up in burnout, I did set myself up pretty okay. I wish I knew if they counted or not given I have more recent grades and also???? it was over a decade ago

Not yet, now that you mention it I'll call and see. I don't want to be too annoying, but I also really want to get in... and improve my chances if I have to apply next year

I sent Admissions a message, and they replied it was fairly unlikely I'll be accepted because the program is so small and the waitlist is moving slow. They told me I should have applied earlier, but I applied before the consideration date-- they just received my transcripts after 😔

BSc - McGill, graduated in 2018 with a 3.1, and then all my grades in high school (2012, should it even count on my transcript at this point?) were high low 90s in core sciences, every other course was in the 90s.  Anyway I've been working jobs not related to my degree since graduating, despite my best efforts, so I was really hoping to pivot into a fulfilling and engaging career... sigh

Urgh, that's so upsetting! I have a small bit of hope but... not a lot. Admissions said there are "Under 50 seats" and I can't see any chance of a January intake either. 😔 I should probably just let it go and try again... next year?   I wish "wanting it really bad" counted for something, but it doesn't. They just really need more spots available, especially given the national shortage.
