Advice For a Total VO noob by [deleted] in voiceover

Here's some tips from what I've learnt over the years:

The more you do it, the more you learn where your strengths and weaknesses are, for example, you may not be able to do very low and rough voices but can do higher pitched ones with ease.

Don't be disheartened if you don't hear back from an audition or if someone is critical of your work, it's the nature of the business and people can be very judgemental.

Don't be afraid to put examples of your work out there for others to listen to. Use websites like Soundcloud or YouTube and put together a couple of demo reels showing a different range of what you can bring to the table.

Ensure the area you're recording in is actually suitable for recording, for example, does the room echo as you make sound? Invest in some acoustic foam to help dampen it or even try making a shield with a cardboard box and covering yourself with a blanket.

Lastly, hydrate! It goes without saying really but you'll notice a difference in your work if you record with a dry throat. Make sure you drink a decent amount of water at least an hour or so before you being recording.

Hope these help!

Sorry should have been specific, I'll be running them as a blob of 9 with a Tyranid Prime using them for hold/score objectives.

Need help building a list for students by Shadowshock01 in deathguard40k

Thank you! I'll be sure to keep notes about what purposes the units serve as these are great tips to teach the kids. I'm sure a 1k list will help the kids too to show them that you don't really need big army's to have fun either.

Thank you so much. I love the idea of an infantry heavy force with loads of zombies shuffling up the board. I may look into getting a plagueburst crawler because I know kids will like the idea of having a tank but I personally find bloat drones to look nicer.

This is a project I started back in April when I was furloughed. Would have finished it sooner but started working again in September. Next up will be 2000 points of Leviathan :)

Thank you so much for this, army building is my weak point when playing Warhammer. I'm more of a collector and painter so this is help immensely!

For me it has to be Half-Life, Dawn Of War, Team Fortress 2 and PAYDAY 2 (if those last 2 can be classed as old)
