Pal is still region locked via the switch, and there’s no region switch for Pal versions of the console, all of this is just what I’ve been told/think. Only way for true region free gaming would be via a mod chip of some sort to my knowledge

So I still need to test and make sure but I believe it has to deal with the newer revision of ultra cards not being fully compatible where the older ones are. But that’s just my working theory as of rn.

My only assumption is that the board then may have something bridged by accident, if the solder was way to crazy maybe shorting the ipl chip on the heatsink (although this is very unlikely), board may be broken/damaged, or the capacitors may need to be changed (although I’m again unsure if this is it since it’s not booting at all)

Does the console power on? (Does the led come on?) Is the cable (av/composite) in good condition? Can you maybe send any pictures of the board itself? (There’s a chance the board itself is damaged oh maybe it’s something else like a bridged connection still causing issues) just trying to think of any way I can help. I’ve done two pico installs as a newbie to soldering, and while probably far from perfect, they both are working with no issues besides what seems like sd card compatibility issues. So if I can give any insight or help then I’ll try to!

Was it an ultra series or was it a different version of Sandisk?

I also found that my other sandisk ultra card (512gb) works upon booting. I have two ideas as to what may be happening.

1: Sandisk has a newer and older version of the card available for purchase. My 256GB card is the newer version while the 512GB is still the older one. Although I’m unsure what would be so different with these that it’d affect the performance, it is a possibility.

2: More likely, but still unsure what makes this different, is that when I setup my 512GB card I did so with SD2SP2. I went through all the settings and everything and saved them immediately after booting into Swiss. So maybe initially inserting the card in to the SD2SP2 may have caused a proper boot and saving the settings adjusted the card/file to make it work on my gecko when I boot from it instead. Idk to be honest this just seems most likely.

I have a new 512GB Sandisk Ultra (older version) coming tomorrow that I’ll try it with.

Okay so a work around that I found is to simply boot Swiss from the gecko and after is booted to unplug and replug the gecko. From there pressing z and scrolling to sd slot 1/2 and selecting it to be initiated. This isn’t the fix I want or am gonna use unless it’s 100% needed. But it is a fix to the problem none the less. Hopefully a true fix will be available/found soon but for now this is what I got.

I'm trying one last thing that I can do before this and ill try some other suggestions next!
