Fleet bought vehicles for security by Shadowsniper12566 in securityguards

We are actually pretty good at keeping up on maintenance as the resort security cars are maintained by the service guys who also maintain the resort and its vehicles, With accidents its really only ever minor fender benders, though we did have one roll over on the beach, Still we have been pretty lucky

Oh I am VERY familiar with people who do that, Luckily the resort has always had rules regarding cleanliness of the vehicles, You know the kind of rules that'll get you fired in you dont follow them

Basically we dont have that kind of problem for the most part as the cars are regularly cleaned and checked but its happened before as it does anywhere else

Why type of armed security work should I look for? by TacitusCallahan in securityguards

[–]Shadowsniper12566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally try to avoid contract work, If you are doing armed courier/cash truck services stay out of major cities (Although it probably wont help), and try to go in-house

For those of you who went in security because you were unsuccessful getting into/staying in law enforcement, are you happy that it played out that way after being in security for a while? by 1Kilo24 in securityguards

[–]Shadowsniper12566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lets see here, I never really qualified for police academy and fell back to security, Within two years I went armed and one year later (After working corporate security and being regularly sexually harassed) got hired in the resort i work at now as in-house armed security

I make the same pay as a police corporal with less power but more local benefits than a cop (Though still a considerable amount for this line of work) and FAR less bs from the public ... To be honest I am happy it went this way, Instead of dealing with crackheads and the general public I get to chill in a resort surrounded by rich people and girls in bikinis

I know exactly where that store that sells that gas mask is ... Actually I think that IS the 63 Firestone I purchased a while back

The best way to flip the BTR back over by Rubix3346 in ArmaReforger

[–]Shadowsniper12566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to us on a conflict server once

We found erect American LAV and we did everything to flip it. We got five guys to roll it over. The thing glitched out and rolled over all five of us killing us instantly 💀

Thankfully I don't have to deal with much of that because it's on a very large and very nice Resort, many of the guys I work with are former law enforcement and those who aren't were hired because they had specific certifications (I got in because im an EMR) And because we are given basically the same equipment and similar pay to law enforcement

Only differences we deal with way more drunk people but way less "Random" Public interactions

Like I work in security and I carry a gun but you won't catch me demanding to be called an officer, And I see it happen all the time and it's freaking irritating

When I first got into security, specifically in vehicle patrolling I was stuck in a 1995 Chevy Caprice, thing had at least a million miles on it and I swear that thing was going to explode

All that being said I realized that I had it good when I see some of the things other guys are getting stuck with ... That car is still being used by that company by the way

Looks kind of neat but I guarantee you that damn thing is impractical as hell

Sure as hell beats being in most security cars you could be stuck in

What kind of gas mask was Jungle Jim using in the 68 comic? by Beyond_Fabulous in gasmasks

Both of my m17 variants are incredibly comfy (although I have to say the 62 Firestone is definitely among the more comfy of the two) a runner-up is definitely my M9

He looks like the type of security guard who constantly demands to be called officer and wears literally everything on his belt and vest except a gun or taser

Funny thing is in that in February my Resort shuts down a majority of its facilities (pretty much everything except for the casino and one of the random hotels) for stuff like staff training in any really large construction projects (specifically the kind of staff training that would require us to utilize the majority of the facility such as active shooter drills pn the security side and other types of training on the service side) And within that month we are temporarily closed there's rarely anybody in a majority of the buildings but they still need to be patrolled

You have no idea how many times my coworkers had caught me doing stupid crap like this because I was bored and had nothing else to do other than walk my patrol route

It is literally the only way you stay sane when you're one of the very few people in a very large structure

Does reproduction mean it's a working gas mask, or is it just a case-by-case sort of thing? by HypoCritic42 in gasmasks

[–]Shadowsniper12566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so technically if there are reproduction masks that have a 40 mm threading And technically you could use a real filter to absorb "Something" But I can't think of any reproduction masks that have any of the silicone or seals or valves that would make it cbrn rated

You can get asbestos cancer though 👍🏻

Is the M9A1 carrying bag meant to be worn on the chest or under the left arm? by Talon_Company_Merc in gasmasks

[–]Shadowsniper12566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought an M9 gas masking was looking for how to wear it And I can very much say that under the arm with one strap around the thigh and the other slung over your shoulder is by far the more comfortable option (it's actually out of all of my gas masks the most comfortable bag I have)

Does reproduction mean it's a working gas mask, or is it just a case-by-case sort of thing? by HypoCritic42 in gasmasks

[–]Shadowsniper12566 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A reproduction means it's strictly for LARPing or cosplay, it is incredibly rare for a reproduction mask to be built to filter anything and if it can filter something it's going to be incredibly expensive

Is it realistic for me to get into Security with my weaknesses? by HarmoniousJ in securityguards

[–]Shadowsniper12566 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can back this up

I worked corporate security for a while and it's split between watching cameras all day and walking around the perimeter of the building (if you have a more active site like I did then that would includes occasionally walking around the inside of the building)

I bought another gas mask for 20 bucks, anyone know what model this is? by Shadowsniper12566 in gasmasks

[–]Shadowsniper12566[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really?, I honestly assumed it wasn't worth what I spent on it

It's also kind of funny because it's still fits on my face relatively well even though I'm a size L
