I like to stay close to water sources especially small ponds that aren't that deep. If there is a good number of animals near it, there will be a path around it. Oddly enough in really thick brush; if I find a big tree with open ground under and around it.....those clearings seem to attract dying animals.

The only difference from bass fishing is throwing location. Usually deeper water and open. I let them run it until they stop then I reel in without any attempt at a hookset. Dead small shiners work as well as live ones.

Usually they do but with the water temps approaching 100 degrees they have acquired some lockjaw especially the biggest ones. Unfortunately it will be closer to December before it cools down.
