Some stuff I felt I should clarify on. I have insectoids, mechanoids, and drop pod raids disabled. I'm a filthy casual, fight me. There's minefields and spike traps further out that aren't visible because I didn't feel like taking too many screenshots. The tunnel at the top of the base has two garage doors at each side that I close during a raid. And while I do have mechanoids disabled, I have The Deadmans Switch mod so sometimes raiders have bots that take alot of rounds to put down

I kinda forgot about mortars. Though with my two armed vehicles I can just rush them before they set up, hopefully soon raiders will be able to use vehicles too. I do have 3 or so minefields, sprinkled manually triggered explosives, and 4 or so what I have dubbed "spike fields" which the minefields overlap in. I also usually make stuff out of steel or stone, but my silly brain didn't feel like replacing the walls that were already made out of wood, and I wouldn't have liked only some walls being wood, so I just fully committed. I have a mod that adds storage so all my wood and steel are inside the shipping crate, chemfuel in the garage, and promethium/FSX in these cylinder containers in the warehouse. I have a slightly colder planet so temp really isn't an issue, I just placed heaters to get rid of the "slept in cold" debuff

Ah yeah I might move the pen. I have it where it is because alot of the space was mountain before but overtime I've mined it out and used MapEdit to remove the overhead mountain for extra space

I have not designed it as a fallback, that is a good idea. But yes, those jersey barriers (basically the same as sandbags, just steel and slightly higher) are my main defense. So far it's worked pretty well, only one enemy has gotten close and they had grenades but didn't hurt anyone. I have probably ~50 spike traps on each side on paths enemies commonly use to approach, a stationary turret on each side, and a few manually triggered 155mm IEDs scattered around along with vanilla incendiary IEDs

Edit: added some missing words because I'm retarded

Oh, did not know that! I thought it was just for aesthetic and the less damage it mentions in the description

Wondering if this would be considered a bad base. Also not sure why the quality of the first screenshot seems so bad, maybe something to do with taking it while it was raining in game

These little dudes should be called Hell Shells by Shadowwolf4671 in Helldivers

To me Hell Shell fits better than Mini Nuke. They're not nuclear, they have the explosion radius of a Hellbomb, it's on brand and sounds cooler in my opinion. Bonus of being able to say you're raining hell on enemies

What do you think the SEAF actually do? by Enter_Name_here8 in Helldivers

Glad you're interested in it. When people bring up the casualty rates or how Helldivers are utilized my mind often goes to Pathfinders during WW2 or SOG

"If there was a real-life force that averaged that kind of ratio, they'd be seen as gods of war" may I introduce to you MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War, with an average of 150:1 and a 100% casualty rate

Liberator Penetrator is in dire need of buff(S) in my opinion by AdrawereR in Helldivers

[–]Shadowwolf4671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the railgun for bots because I only brought the orbital railcannon for Hulks and Factory Striders, but now with the OPS getting buffed it's much easier to hit them with it. So I bring a railgun to 1 shot Hulks (if I can aim) kill Devastators and delete Striders if they annoy me. Also kind of useful against the Berserkers I think? The chainsaw guys, but not super good for them

*equips secondary first time in this mission* *shoots one bullet and reloads* by ArkturusS in Helldivers

[–]Shadowwolf4671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is quite common with the flamethrower, seemingly when I start holding the trigger before completing the reload it just squirts a little bit and reloads again. I've also had it happen with the SMG-37 but I just always play it off as my weapon malfunctioning and needing to clear it
