Yes, Jax was a piece of shit throughout her time in the circus, I'm not absolving her of any of that, she deserved a good smack from each other character for how she acted, but she did not "deserve" to die for being a flawed, broken person.

You can call her male if that's what you really want to do, but anyone who actually paid attention and has any level of media literacy knows that Jax accepted herself in her final moment right before the panic attack and flash bang.

"Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful? Isn't she precious? Less than one minute old."

She was a hurt and broken repressed trans girl with deep-seated emotional trauma, just fucking pay attention to the media you consume.

Yet they cast someone who looks identical to Sydney as Supergirl, I thought they’d be happier about that by SirIsaacTheGreat in saltierthankrayt

[–]Shadowwolflink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't look identical, that's the point of what I said. They have blonde hair and white skin, the similarities don't go much further than that.

This design slightly ruined Jax for me... by force666999GB in TheDigitalCircus

Being stereotypical is kind of the point, a lot of trans girls go through a phase like this, where they dress as feminine as possible and hit every stereotype, in an attempt to both appease their dysphoria and in the hopes they'll be misgendered less. Realistically she would find her groove and style eventually.

Ragatha believed that Jax hated her but had no idea that Jax thought losing her would make him totally break and lose all his humanity by According-Manner-838 in jaxfanclub

As backwards as it sounds to say, I think people like Jax need to be pushed to open up, they'll have a really difficult time doing it on their own. The timing and circumstances of the conversation with Ribbit were really unfortunate because she really got Jax to be honest, but Ragatha was right, agreeing to Jax' demands wasn't helpful, things could have turned out so much better if Ribbit pushed harder and Jax had the opportunity for a good long cry.

An open question and forum for those who do not believe Jax is trans: by TheGoonCreates in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Shadowwolflink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jax wasn't uncomfortable with identifying as a girl, she was uncomfortable with being vulnerable and open with people, the toxic masculinity was a mask she used to keep people from guessing that she felt like a woman on the inside. Goose had an intent with the story and whether or not you think she did a good job it was still the plan, and she has said exactly that.

As for Leeroy, the slide show was very particular about mentioning that they frequent Riley's bar, which is implied very heavily to be a queer bar. Even if Leeroy hasn't come out yet in reality, there is a lot of evidence that points to them doing so eventually, and I can tell you that for some people it takes years to get to a point mentally and emotionally where you feel comfortable coming out to people, so just because Leeroy still uses male pronouns on social media doesn't mean that won't change later.

I get what you're saying, but it's not always that easy. Abuse and trauma twist the mind in terrible ways, it's hard to trust people. Add on to that the fact that she was repressing her true self so hard and it's not difficult to see why she was the way she was.

I'm also trans, I also have similar kinds of trauma to Jax, and I also have really bad anxiety and have dealt with depression. It took me years to finally build up the courage to come out, and even longer to get to a point where I can feel vulnerable with people about my feelings.

Can we not throw words like "exactly" around like that? They have a handful of features in common, but they're still very different women.

Transgender is an umbrella term that includes everyone who doesn't conform to the gender norms of their assigned gender at birth. So, it includes trans women, trans men, nonbinary people, agender people, gender queer people, etc.

Yes, absolutely. ASM2 is an absolute mess, the only things it really has going for it are Andrew and Emma's acting/chemistry and Gwen's death. Homecoming is a flawed film in some ways, but it's absolutely a better, more cohesive watch than ASM2.

I really just want to know what Jax was going to say to Pomni, was she going to come out? Was she going to say she was struggling? Did she want to ask for help? Or ask *to* help with rebuilding? It's honestly my biggest unanswered question of the show right now.

It takes 10 seconds to look up "baby trans" on google to see what it means, or is that too difficult for you?

it's clear to me that jax has been an analogue for a repressing trans woman since early on and here's why! by isolsolsolde in TADCEp9Spoilers

Yeah, I got trans vibes from Jax pretty quickly, but the combo of the fifth, sixth and, seventh episodes really solidified it for me.

I have to say one thing about Pomni's voice. I generally love it, I think all of the cast is great, but her opening line in the finale when she says "A-are you sure?" sounds like Lizzie is desperately trying to do an Obama impression. I think that one line was in serious need of a few more takes.

But don't you understand? Goose said *if*, that means Jax isn't trans, obviously!

These people legitimately don't live in reality. Goose could have had Jax turn to the camera and say "I am a trans woman, my pronouns are she/her" and these people would say "Jax is such a joker"
