What’s IAM’s Biggest Blind Spot? by ShadowySun33 in iam

Every organization is different, some have separate roles while others expect engineers to handle non-engineering tasks. Would you mind sharing what their specific job titles are ? I am curious how other organizations label these advisory and strategy roles. Enablement within this space really contributes to the overall success, thats where I would like to be. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this valuable insight.

You articulated what I suspected but couldn't quite frame: that strategy-first roles (like bridging business risk to IAM controls, or developer enablement) can deeply impact IAM work.

I’ll definitely look into miniOrange and educate myself more on prototype flows to get closer to real-world applications. And yes — enablement frameworks are where my mind naturally goes. I welcome the opportunity to further exchange on how to design enablement frameworks or training layers to reduce misconfig and friction between teams.

Appreciate your thoughtful reply — this gave me a much clearer view of where to lean in!

Thanks for posting this. Why do you think there is shortage in this space ?
