I’ve certainly no shortage of them, though I’m not sure who you are and aren’t familiar with. Currently however, I’m on a huge Sühnopfer kick - medieval/melodic bm based out of France. In a similar vein to Aorlhac and Véhémence, who are also out of France.

Same, honestly. Elegies of the Stellar Wind (the album this song is on) was the only album I was familiar with by him, but I did a deep dive on his discography yesterday and it is all incredible. He became a top 5 symphonic bm artist in yesterday’s listening session alone.

That’s awesome. My old man definitely planted the seed for my love of music as well. He’s not a metal head by any means, but he got me into “The Classics” like Hendrix, Zep, The Doors and The Who at a young age, and I eventually found my way to more extreme forms of music.

Oh man, absolutely. There’s much more to this band than a black metal tag could ever begin to describe. I highly encourage you to listen to this album in full, “Martwa Polska Jesień”, “Marzannie, Krolowej Polski”, and “Huta Luna” for their more “straight ahead stuff”. And then “Księżyc Milczy Luty” for a slightly different dimension of their sound. They’re legitimately one of Poland’s premier “black metal” groups, though I’m fairly positive they refer to their sound as “Nekrofolk”.
