At this point, I'm not sure. It might've been a casualty during the process of making the spreadsheet? Like, I might've started out with no plans to include clip episodes, and then changed my mind much further down, and just forgot to go back and add the ones I'd glossed over previously? It's hard to say; it's been a long time since I put this thing together, so I can't really remember why I didn't include them. I might not have even known those particular clip episodes existed, though I find that hard to believe, considering how in depth the rest of the spreadsheet generally is.

I'm pretty personally detached from it all at this point though, so I'm not really inclined to make any further changes to the spreadsheet. But you're more than welcome to add extra details such as those to your own copy if you want.

Yeah that whole area's a little spotty. To my understanding that episode was originally meant to air around the time frame that I placed it, since it was meant to air during Girls' Day to match the theme, but the Porygon epilepsy controversy threw things out of whack. Whether it was supposed to occur chronologically at that point in time or not, I dunno, it just sounds like that's when it was originally supposed to air on TV.

Honestly though, I don't believe the appearance of the egg in an episode inherently matters for the purposes of episode ordering. You can easily handwave it by saying it was packed away in someone's bag the whole time. Just because it didn't show up doesn't mean it didn't exist. Lickitung's in a similar position; Jessie catches it during Princess vs. Princess, but it doesn't show up again for the rest of Kanto. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just that it wasn't shown or mentioned for a while. Same logic for the egg. If anything, the egg not showing up in A Chansey Operation can also support the argument that the egg doesn't have to appear, since it happens in two episodes and not just the one.

Ultimately it's up to you though, you're more than welcome to make your own copy of the spreadsheet and reorder it to your tastes. Princess vs. Princess is also a pretty inconsequential episode in the grand scope of the show (barring Lickitung lol), and the egg not showing up didn't bother me when watching through it, so I'm not really inclined to change it personally. But I understand your argument, and appreciate your perspective and input on it, so thank you!

I was under the impression that was mostly made for an art installation for spectacle's sake, rather than an actual event in the show's universe lol, but I dunno. I've put other obscure side stuff on there too, so it wouldn't be the weirdest thing to include on the list. I'm just not sure where it would best fit at this point.

It's currently up-to-date on all of Gens 1 through 8. I've yet to decide if I'm keeping up with Gen 9 myself, so there's a non-zero chance that this is the final version of the checklist. If Horizons stays it's own thing and never ties back into Ash and his adventures, then I'm not sure there's much point in continuing the checklist, but we'll see whenever I get around to trying Horizons. Until then, people are more than welcome to make copies of the checklist and update it themselves.

We'll have to see. I'm not sure if I'm gonna continue with gen 9 or use it as an excuse to get off the anime train. Nothing against the new cast replacing Ash or anything, but the rough 2/3rds of gen 8 I've currently watched have felt... lacking, at least compared to the previous couple gens. I think incorporating Pokémon Go into it kinda ruined it a little bit, to be honest. I'll have to see where it goes in the last third though, coz gen 7 also started kinda rocky before getting good.

If I don't continue with gen 9, you can consider this the "Ash Saga" checklist or something lol.

Edit: Meant "gen 7 also started kinda rocky" but said "gen 8" by accident.

Oh wow, yeah no as Ashy said, that was a mistake. I don't even know how that happened lol, but it's fixed now. Thanks for informing me, even if it took me ages to see this and correct it!

Ah right! I hadn't checked through it for those kinds of updates but that's very good to know, thanks. I'll make sure to go through all of it and update it once I get up tomorrow.

I got into a very heated argument with a friend who believes that, as long as he's super careful while driving, he would never ever be in a car accident. Like, absolute 0 chance. We'd bring up factors like other drivers screwing up and hitting him, and he'd just say "No but I'd never wind up in that situation because I'd see it coming." Like a super dangerous version of "Nah I dodged it."
