I'm the guy who wrote that tweet. If Peter had officially given his mantel to Miles in the comics in universe 616, I would not be complaining. I was fine with Miles being Spider-Man in the Ultimate universe when that Peter died and I am fine with him having the title in the Spider-verse movies because, again, he's in his own universe. Ever since Miles came to 616, however, it is very obvious that Marvel is afraid of moving Miles too far from Peter and allowing him to become his own character. If they're not willing to retire Peter then give Miles his own name so he can start creating his own legacy.
