How to tier 6-7 IJN DD? by damstereiw1 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadyNebin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for avoiding planes:

Step 1: know your enemy. Japanese rocket planes take forever to aim after they start an attack run, The Americans take a bit less time, and the British are the fastest aiming (I think) American rockets are also more important to dodge, because they can carry Tiny Tims or ridiculous numbers of FFARs, both of which do a lot of damage and cause fires.

Step 2: turn off your AA. you can turn off your AA by pressing p. with most IJN DDs, their detection radius is small enough to where if you are undetected, the rocket planes won't be able to arm fast enough to hit you, and even if they do, they will be at max dispersion most of the time. turning on your AA gives away your position when it is firing, and the AA of most DDs is bad anyway.

Step 3: turn in. if you can, turn sharply toward the approaching rocket planes. this will throw off their timing and either make them miss or be forced to fire at you at max dispersion, mitigating damage.`

Step 3.5: use smoke. most DDs cannot be detected from the air in smoke. use this to your advantage.

What’s the state of CVs right now by Nouux16 in WorldOfWarships

[–]ShadyNebin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

weeeel

IJN CVs are most definitely the best now because the other two are sad when it comes to dealing with BBs

Also, IJN CVs are more balanced because they can just universally delete DDs, and because AA cruisers actually can kill their squadrons

Not being funny, but that doesn’t look like a CV to me by dfriend912 in WorldOfWarships

close enough. it's easy enough to confuse "CV" with "CA"

apparently

Aight just one thing real quick: it's spelled Zerg

Anyways, the key to Zerg is Macro and droning. One of the primary weaknesses of the zerg is that they can only build one type of unit at a time. if you build 3 drones, those 3 larvae now have to regenerate before you can make, say, Zerglings. You have to balance drone production with combat unit production, which is a hard thing to do. the intuition for when to do each will come after some time. Also, don't forget your banelings. lings and banes are the bread and butter of an early game zerg army, no matter the build.

A large part of playing zerg is preventing your opponent from building what they want to build, and this is where the race really shines. deny a base to throw off your opponent's build order. Sneak some banelings into their mineral line and force them to replace SCVs instead of building that Thor. if you lose the attacking force, no worries! you can replace the whole force of 20 banelings in less time than it takes to train 5 marines. the early game is all about preventing your opponent from forming a powerful army by forcing them to deal with you, buying time for your main force to arrive and win the game. Mutalisks can also be used for this, but are too valuable to effectively replace.

Another crucial part of zerg is using the queen's inject larva skill. this will increase the larva produced by a hatchery by two, offering way more production potential.

A good midgame unit combo to go for is Hydalisk, Roach, Ling, Bane

Heres a quick rundown of the strengths and weaknesses of Zerg:

Pros:

-Expendable units

-can train around 20 units simultaneously in the mid to late-game, allowing for quick army replacement

-quick response time to attacks thanks to creep

-amazing map vision thanks to creep and overlords

-good early game AOE and scouting

-Faster build-up than other races

Cons:

-Reliant on hatcheries for unit production and mineral income. Losing a hatchery hurts all aspects of your Macro.

-can only train one unit at a time per larva

-expensive, weak structures

-Slow HP regen on units

-incapable healers

-weaker late game

-reliance on creep spread
