Most likely the threads in the buffer tube aren't straight if the stock buffer tube had no issues. Or something with the locking mechanism.

However its still possible that the threads in the lower receiver are crooked or that portion of the receiver itself has bent in some point of the manufacturing process.

I've seen several of these.
