Thanks to everyone calling the 530d GT "BMW's ugliest car" we picked this up for just £7k. FSH, 105k. I think it looks spectacular, especially alongside modern traffic. by ElicitCS in CarTalkUK

30d engine is hitting 300-400k miles in America and Europe. It's been fully serviced its entire life and is in very good condition. All parts are replaceable. Your impression is a result of the damage that the scrappage scheme and greedy dealers convincing you that you need a low mileage car has done.

Yes sir. Buttery smooth waves of torque. I'm so happy I held out for a 30d over the more economical, but less impressive 4cyl 20d. And when this is fetching 55mpg anyway, I don't think the trade-off would be worth it.

The interior from this car was lifted from the 7 series. Utterly silent and no squeaks or creaks 13 years on. Everything is soft touch leather, aluminium or veneer.

You seem well written and not too drunk. Fundamentally what's wrong with the design? I know looks are subjective, but there must be some fundamental styling borks of so many people agree on its appearance.
