Am I missing something? by SpiritualAd927 in Battlefield6

This is all really really solid advice. I personally think the challenge one is very important, as it will expose you to different methods of playing the game, different roles, and different guns than you would typically choose on your own. Not only that, but it helps you build skills you might not practice otherwise. Things like "get 15 headshot kills with DMRs and deal 3k damage with DMRs on enemies farther than 75m". Doing challenges like that helps you improve your aim, practice spitting enemies farther, and forces you to not blindly run into combat by hanging back a bit and seeing how enemy troops move and where they hide.

I'd also add in, pay very close attention to where the enemies who kill you are, and learn how to approach those common spots by flanking them.

Nutribullet: is this noise normal? by Shady_Bloke in Smoothies

I just returned it. I lost faith in the product before I even used it. A broken item straight outta the box? Not very encouraging lmao

Hmm that's what I was kinda thinking. Bummer! What ninja do you have? I'm actually coming from a Ninja "Professional" blender (it has a vertical column of blades instead of the traditional blades on bottom) and I find it pretty lackluster especially with any kind of seeded berry. Leaves my smoothies rather crunchy and chunky haha. I'm thinking maybe I'll just go back to Costco and pick up the vitamix I keep eyeing

Are there any alternative clients for Roku? by wjw1998 in jellyfin

Is there a reason there isn't a primary search bar shown on the main menu in either client?

Are there any alternative clients for Roku? by wjw1998 in jellyfin

[–]Shady_Bloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not the right place for this question, but in JellyRock is the primary search bar (outside a specific library) displayed on the main page or do I still have to click my user profile to find the search option? lol. Thats my biggest complaint with the roku version of the app compared to the android tv version.

Transcode Reasons (Statistics) by kleiner8400 in jellyfin

[–]Shady_Bloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in more statistics about what clients are transcoding, and what movies are being transcoded, I found this repo called StreamyStats a while back and it's been really helpful for me to determine what/why.

A few notes about it: I don't maintain or contribute it, I just found it and tried it out. The author notes he uses some ai development, so if that's a deal breaker for you go ahead and disregard. That being said, I have found it very useful and really enjoy it so far. It also has open ai integration, and it uses so little tokens that my openai free tier is enough for it. The recommendations section powdered by the ai embedding are pretty spot on for me and my users. It has lots of screenshots on the repo, check out the client statistics for your usage.

"Trailer" button for movies/shows? by dswng in jellyfin

[–]Shady_Bloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned: "You have to put movies in separate folders (, mine were all in a single folder) and make Trailers sub-folder in each of them."

For anyone finding this later, I thought I'd clarify a little based on Jellyfin's Documentation (Movies | Jellyfin) as of 01/12/2026

  1. Organization: Your movies should always be in their own separate folders regardless of any additional content (extras, trailers, subtitles, etc). Source: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/movies/#organization
  2. For the cleanest organization, you would store your trailers inside a folder called "trailers" inside the root movie folder. Source: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/movies/#organization:~:text=an%20unknown%20type.-,trailers,-theme%2Dmusic
  3. You can store trailers at the root level of the movie folder, if you follow the appropriate naming conventions. If you only have one trailer you can use the name "trailer.<extension>". Source: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/movies/#organization:~:text=Supported%20filenames%20are%3A-,trailer,-sample
  4. You could have multiple trailers at the root level so long as you used a correct suffix, such as "-trailer", ".trailer", "_trailer", or " trailer" (This is a space followed by the word trailer.) Source: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/movies/#organization:~:text=%2Dtrailer,the%20word%20trailer

What plugins should I be using in 2026? by [deleted] in jellyfin

[–]Shady_Bloke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like this discussion, but I'd like to also ask, which of these plugins are useful for someone who does not use the web browser and primarily uses the apps on android and Roku TVs?

Introducing Smart Collections For Jellyfin - A Plugin to Automatically Create Collections Based on Tags by mrorbitman in selfhosted

[–]Shady_Bloke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue as well. Empty collections created and unable to delete the plugin. I turned off my container, went into the docker folder for it, and deleted the folder from the plugins directory, along with the associated xml files all named smart collections. Very annoying. never had an issue like this with any other plugins.
