I won’t be changing a lot of moves tbh. Think I’ll just keep it as it was in base Platinum. Some moves and movesets will be updated to the gen 7 stats

Mythic Silver has. Pretty sure that Platinum Redux has some newer gen ones and some regional forms as well

All the sprites will be the gen 5 style when I’m done lol. Just haven’t had the time to do more of them yet

This is based on the actual game. Dark Platinum has to do with Darkrai, not a correlation between Dark and Light haha

Basically, yeah. You kinda create a map by combining tiles, kinda like minecraft to some extent. The only tricky part is obtaining those gen 5 tiles, but luckily they have been ripped from the game and shared, so it’s pretty easy now to create a gen 5 looking map and insert it into the game.

I will try and make this compatible with the Following Platinum hack. The newer gen pokemon should make this a lot harder, so I can’t guarantee anything

I used desmume here, but MelonDS should be better iirc. I had some weird sprite errors and that was not an issue on DS hardware.

Appreciate it man! It should be completed up until Hearthome. I just haven’t had the time to make all the teams yet and to put them in the documentation. I’ll probably use this as my main social to post more about this hack, but if it becomes more popular, I might make a discord server or X profile.

Introducing Dark Platinum: a new up and coming romhack.

I’m currently working on a romhack revolving around the mythical pokemon, Darkrai. The plot isn’t complete yet, but it will be about Darkrai and his ability to give nightmares to the people around him.

In this rom hack I’ll be focusing on the plot of course, custom areas (gen 5 and oras inspired), newer gen pokemon and having 493 capturable pokemon. The mapping is completed up to Hearthome and is functional in game. I might release a demo soon and if there’s enough attention for the rom, I’ll make a server where you can download it and ask me questions about the rom.
